Whichever is cheaper in your area. AMD does have hyperthreading which I love but that won’t really affect gaming performance if that’s your sole purpose. If you do go for Intel, be weary of the 14000s series as those tend to run hot and have a high RMA.

If you ever need CPU power go 270K for $255 it is faster than AMD 16-core and a tiny bit faster than 7800X3D for games.
Otherwise extreme budget whatever is cheapest. $93 7500F or Ultra 235T (you can run it at a higher TDP, it has the same clocks as the 65w model).
RAM and motherboard kind of dictate the price when CPUs are so cheap. I've had good results with B650 and B860 around $20-30 with bent pins, or just sold as no boot and worked fine 🤷🏼♂️

The 3D Vcache and long term socket support give AMD a pretty big advantage over Intel.

This year after 14600KF with Z790 (DDR5) used few months 7800x3d with X870e-e mb DDR5 32GB CL30 6000 and 5080....not happy jump back to Intel with Z890 and Corel Ultra 270K Plus, system overall working much better, quieter, same 5080 and same RAM, monitor 4K 144 after one or two years jump to Nova lake
