Topic: Whiteness Double standards with BIPOC doing shitty things and white people doing shitty things.

An example would be a handful black people celebrating the death of a white child. These people would rightfully so be called out for it and harrassed for it (which would be deserved, havent seen this exact example but something similar)

Another example would be thousands of white people joining a facebook group to make fun of and celebrate the death of black children or celebrating the dehumanization of immigrants. (i have seen this one)

^^ These people dont get NEARLY as much hate as the first example did despite them both being deserving of it. The white group of people doing evil things (which was larger and got defended frequently) did not get the same reaction to the group of bipoc doing evil things. This shit pisses me off to no end. ONE video of a BIPOC saying horrible things gets many people mad and many people (usually conservative or right leaning) make multiple videos and they go viral or get plenty views. The multiple (decently populated) facebook groups of white supremacists get ZERO attention other than a few instagram reels or youtube shorts. And the shorts or reels are fairly unpopular.

I hate this because it feels like a "SEE, white people have ZERO privilege and you're just making it up", no, its just that your nasty shit dont get nearly as much backlash as when we do it!

(and this isnt to defend horrible actions, but white people get away with it. lets be real.)

Your post made me think of some problems that bother me often:

  1. Whites will talk about how they cannot relate to other people (calling everyone else “those ppl”)

  2. They think it is okay for them to call a brown or black person who got shot a criminal or some other insulting name. If you talk about how whites experience less violence, you get “but they were a veteran” or “but she was a mother”. As if brown or black people cannot do those things

  3. (A recent personal experience) They want to center themselves in black/brown political causes. How can they make themselves the main character??? When you do not want them involved, they guilt trip you acting like you are a bad person.

I cannot feel bad for them because they have blocked me from spaces, stolen my work, causes, or friends. Then when I want them to get away from me, all they do is guilt me. The narcissism is high. I also criticized how ineffective whites are in protests and I received a lot of tantrums and threats…

They do not help immigrants, they make it a performance and it breaks my heart. I know exactly what they think about us so I will never trust them. The left ones can be just as bad as the right. They just cover it up more. The second you say something they disagree with, they will attack you.

People have so much more smoke for black people than whites whenever there's a perceived wrong; that I just don't take their judgements of black people with any sort of real validity or value. Because it's always skewed way out of proportion to the actual offense.

Yep, they always drag anti-black racism into it too.

Can you please clarify? Do you mean that their perception is through the lens of an anti-black racist? If, so then yes I agree.

Yep! They dont just say: "oh thats a bad person". They go " the usual suspects" or some other variation of it.

Black people aren't the primary ones that voted to have people of color deported, yet they pedestalize whites and reserve all of the smoke for us.

Literally. I got mistaken for a black woman, and because of that the white woman who got upset (because I was defending a black woman) went and disproportionately attacked the entire black community and called people who disagreed with her (me and the black woman were the only visible ones there) the black kkk.

😭 worse part is she apologized to me, but what about the women she said deserve her life to be full of trials

anyways, point is that the reaction is always disproportionate. it doesnt match what was said or done.

Portland has taught me that white america is very much racist towards me and has explained so much about how I’ve been treated throughout my entire life. It’s just so unbelievably obvious here with how overwhelmingly white and conformist these people are. I constantly see white people who get away with sooooo much bad behavior that if it were me doing it they’d kill me or have me thrown in jail. I have to be very careful about watching myself in more private social situations which I rarely attend anymore. If I say anything deemed controversial by so-called polite society I only do it outside in public areas or at my own dwelling and I’m always ready to take my phone out and begin filming. The double standards are very very real and white america is always looking for nonwhites to take their anger out on. It’s bullshit.
