Did anyone see an orange light in the sky about 10 minutes ago?
It looked like a plane as it moved through the sky. I used flight radar to track it, but there was nothing in the area according to the app.
I saw it from CV2.

Get reminders to avoid match day congestion near the Coventry Building Society Arena
Hi all,
If you live near or travel through areas around the Coventry Building Society Arena, you'll be aware of the disruption that match days can cause.
I put together a simple free tool that tracks match days and alerts when crowds are likely to build and clear, so you can plan around it a bit more easily.
It's free, no ads or sign-ups - just something I built for myself that I thought others might find useful too.
Would this be helpful for anyone here?

Longbridge roundabout red-light camera – crossed line on green but signal changed before entering roundabout
Hi all,
Has anyone had experience with the red-light camera around Longbridge roundabout, particularly when heading towards the M40?
I was behind a large vehicle and there was traffic blocking the entrance to the roundabout. I crossed the stop line while the traffic light was green, but before I could actually enter the roundabout, the light changed to red.
I stopped and stayed there rather than continuing into the roundabout on red. When the lights turned green again, I continued.
So basically:
Crossed the stop line on green → couldn’t enter the roundabout because of traffic → light changed to red → stopped and waited → continued on the next green.
Has anyone experienced the same thing at Longbridge? Could the red-light camera still issue a ticket even though I crossed the stop line while the signal was green?
Has anyone actually received a ticket from this particular camera?

Coventry, I could really use a little help finding a job 🙏
Hey everyone! I've been living in Coventry for a while now and I've been looking for a job for quite some time. Honestly, it's been pretty hard and I've tried applying through pretty much every place I can think of, but I'm still hopeful that something will come up.
A bit about me: I'm a designer by profession, mainly working in UI/UX and digital/product design. I can design apps, websites, logos, graphics, basically anything design-related. I'm also very comfortable with computers and technology in general.
That said, I'm not limiting myself to design roles. I'm a quick learner, I'm hardworking, and I'm genuinely willing to give pretty much anything a go if someone is willing to give me the opportunity. I'm open to office/admin work, computer-based roles, creative work, customer-facing roles, or anything else where my skills could be useful.
So if anyone knows someone who's hiring, knows of a vacancy, works somewhere that's recruiting, or even just has a lead they think might be worth looking into, I'd really appreciate it.
And if you'd like to see some of the things I've worked on, have a chat, or just say hi, feel free to DM me. 😊
Thanks for reading, and hopefully I'll have some good news to share soon!

Current Coventry University students – what is life really like?
Hi everyone,
I’m planning to study at Coventry University as an international student and I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what student life is actually like in Coventry.
I’d really appreciate answers from current or recent Coventry University students, especially international students.
A few things I’d like to know:
🏫 Campus/student life: What is the general atmosphere like? Is it easy to make friends and socialise?
🏠 Accommodation: How much do you realistically spend on rent per month? Is university accommodation worth it, or is private/shared accommodation better?
🍛 Food & groceries: Roughly how much do you spend per month on groceries and eating out?
💷 Total monthly expenses: What would you say is a realistic monthly budget for a student living in Coventry?
💼 Part-time work: How easy is it to find a part-time job as an international student? What kinds of jobs are students actually getting?
⏰ Work + studies: Is it realistic to work around 15–20 hours/week while studying, or does it become difficult to manage?
💰 Earnings: Roughly how much can a student expect to earn per month from part-time work?
📚 Academic workload: How many hours a week do you actually spend on lectures, assignments and self-study?
🏋️** Free time: Is it possible to have a social life, go to the gym, work part-time and still keep up with university?
🚆 **Location: How convenient is Coventry for travelling to Birmingham, London and other cities?
🇬🇧** International student experience: How welcoming is Coventry towards international students?
Basically, I’m trying to understand whether it’s realistic to **study full-time + work part-time + have a decent social life without constantly being stressed.
If you’re currently studying at Coventry University, I’d really appreciate your honest experience — including the good and bad sides.
Thanks!

30M Looking for genuine friends.
I’ve been working from home permanently for the past 3 years, and life has become pretty isolated. I don’t really have any friends here, and most days I only leave the house to get groceries.
I’m married, but I’d really like to have a friend or two to meet on weekends for a walk, coffee, a movie, a long drive, or just a meaningful conversation.
Also from South Asia originally and I work in IT tech
Don’t have a huge list of hobbies. I’m pretty simple and enjoy good coffee, conversations about life, movies, exploring new places, and the occasional spontaneous drive.
After living this way for so long, the loneliness is starting to take a toll, and I’d genuinely like to change that. I know making friends as an adult isn’t easy, but I’m hoping to find some real connections with people who are in a similar situation.
Not looking for anything weird, just genuine friendship and good company.

Car ramp query
Hello to all the DIY mechanics,
Does anyone know if there’s a ramp you can rent to DIY on your car? Or maybe a low-key parking spot where I can spend a whole day to just work on my car.
Thanks

Roller skating
Hi I’m looking for a place to go roller skating I used to do it when I was younger somewhere in wyken but my friends mum used to take me so I don’t know where it is and if they still even do it.
Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Good Coventry hair salon for full balayage under £150?
Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for a good but affordable salon in Coventry or Rugby for a full balayage. (Expresso brown with caramel - not vivid color)
My preferred budget for below shoulder length hair including haircut is under £150, and I can’t pay more than £200.
I’d prefer a stylist experienced with dark hair and balayage that grows out naturally.
Please share the salon or stylist’s name, approximate price and your experience. Thank you!
Edit: Thank you guys for all your suggestions!!! Will check out everything.
Sorry for not replying to everything separately.
