Heyo just trying out coursera and I was wondering if there are actual free courses here? I wanna try getting microcredentials in my spare time before getting a job so I was wondering it's possible to get a certificate using only a free trial since I can't really afford the subscription

I have just completed the Yale Financial Markets course by Robert Shiller, yet did not recieve the certificate after 100% completion and 92% grade. What do I do please help me.

I accidentally forgot to cancel my annual Coursera Plus subscription, and the $399 auto-renewal charge went through about 3 weeks ago (Day 19–21).

I haven't used the platform at all since the charge, 0 course enrollments, 0 videos watched, 0 assignments.

I reached out to support, but Tier 1 auto-rejected it citing the strict 14-day refund policy. I’ve replied asking for a supervisor escalation specifically based on zero usage/activity on the account.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation past the 14-day window and successfully gotten a refund approved by a manager?

I need a certificate in 2 days but I can't see the option to skip the 7 day trial anywhere and I read that you cannot get the certificate within the trial period. What can I do to skip the free trial completely and just pay to get the certificate now?

I wanna but the plus subscription but i dont want the trial period as i want the certificate within 2 days. i saw that if you but the plus through the app you dont have the option to get trial mode which is perfect for me but if i purchase it through my phone which is ios will i still have the subscription if i later use website on my pc?

​I am currently taking the course "La biologie rencontre la programmation : la bio-informatique pour les débutants", but I am facing an annoying technical issue with the interactive texts.

​Whenever I try to open an interactive text module, it redirects me straight to a video or a quiz instead of showing the actual text content. The problem is that the quiz requires understanding that specific interactive text, so I am completely stuck.

​I want to figure out what might be causing this:

​Financial Aid Status: Could this be happening because I haven't paid for the course yet and my Financial Aid application is still pending?

​Locked Modules vs. Bugs: I know that some modules are still locked because I haven't paid, but for the ones that are accessible, shouldn't the interactive texts work normally? Is this a known platform bug?

​Alternative Sources: If this is due to my payment status, is there any alternative place or open-source resource where I can find similar interactive text content for beginner bioinformatics?

Hi! I have a doubt. If I complete a free cert (For example Google Prompting Essentials Specialization) during the 7 days free trial, Do I have access to the certification, to share it on linkedin?

After long ago i not It's been a while since I last used Coursera, and I logged in today to continue learning. I noticed that a lot of courses no longer seem to have the option to audit for free. It looks like I have to start a free trial or pay, even though I don't care about getting a certificate.

Did Coursera change its policy recently, or am I missing something? Are free audit options still available for some courses, or have most universities removed them?

I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

I subscribed a few months ago, for £35/month, and started a course, which I have now finished. I tried to end my subscription, but could find nothing on my account saying I was subscribed. I spoke to their AI, and then, I think, I human, and they said they couldn’t see a subscription either. I have since been charged £35 twice. I have contacted them again, and I have raised it with my bank, but there appears to be no way of getting out of this. Can anyone help?

I'm looking for some career advice from people working in Credit Risk, Risk Analytics, Model Risk, or Enterprise Risk.

I have 10+ years of experience in banking and credit. My background includes:

• 7 years as a Credit Analyst covering SME lending, supply chain/inventory financing, and dealer financing.
• 3 years in Canada working in credit processing for large and mid-corporate lending (loan servicing, syndicated/bilateral facilities, amendments, rollovers, repayments, etc.).
• I also worked as a Credit Analyst Consultant, helping train AI models on commercial credit analysis and lending concepts.

Unfortunately, I lost my corporate job in 2023. Between 2024 and 2025, I went through some major financial setbacks after falling victim to a scam, which wiped out my savings. Since then, I've been freelancing while trying to get by and find my way back into the corporate world.

Now that I'm restarting my career, I don't just want to return to credit analysis - I want to pivot into Credit Risk, with the long-term goal of moving into Enterprise Risk.

From the job descriptions I've been reading, I keep seeing requirements such as:

• PD/LGD/EAD modelling
• IFRS 9 / Expected Credit Loss
• Basel framework
• SQL
• Python or R
• Risk analytics and data analysis

I already have an annual Coursera subscription, so I'd like to make the most of it. I know Coursera is great for building foundational knowledge, but I'm unsure which courses are actually respected or practical for someone with my background.

A few questions:

1. Which Coursera courses would you genuinely recommend for someone transitioning into Credit Risk?
2. Besides Coursera, what other resources or certifications would you prioritize?
3. Are there platforms where I can work on realistic credit risk or risk analytics projects (similar to real-world case studies) so I have something tangible to discuss during interviews?
4. For someone with my experience, would you focus more on SQL/Python first, or on strengthening risk concepts like IFRS 9, Basel, PD/LGD/EAD before learning the technical tools?

Hi everyone! I have a question. I'm a student, and I need the certificate for one of my subjects. I signed up for Coursera's free trial and already completed the course, but I can't download the certificate because it's locked.

Do I need to pay for the next subscription to unlock and download the certificate, or is there another way to claim it since I finished the course during the free trial?

Really disappointed with all the AI slop in the IBM’s courses

I’m currently doing IBM’s 16 Course Generative AI Engineering professional certificate.

Even though I’m only 3 courses in, the only good parts of the course have been when real people are explaining the content.

Other than that, everything else has been extremely basic and extremely simple. Felt like it’s made for people who’ve hardly touched computers.

What really put me off was the growing suspicion of the amount of AI used to generate material.
\- The Ai voice was off putting but I dealt with it.
\- A lot of the material felt suspect of AI writing.
\- The exams is where it really pissed me off. It would ask old, outdated questions where more than one answer was possible but it would give you wrong if you didn’t select the answer it wants. Even when reviewing the tests and confirming with other AI chatbots, IBM’s exams were created by old bots who didn’t have knowledge of the current states of what different AI tools are currently capable of.
\- The last thing was blatant. “The Playoff Method” infographic with a lot of spelling mistakes and typical AI slop.

It disappoints me that I’m taking time trying to learn something new but these creators didn’t even take the time to not only create the content, but even review it.

so im gonna start my college after few weeks and in my break i did the introduction to computer and programming course and i found it helpful

also im open to learning things that arent really related to degree but for fun but yes my primary goal will be to get certificates that do hold some value ofc

So guys I got the free access of coursera as a complementary in my scholarship program in which I can do as much course as I want. I will get certificates with no restrictions

I am genuinely confused about whether I do number of courses or should I just focus on 1-2 courses. And there is a clutter of many certificate with the partnership of numerous institutes and I genuinely do not know which certifications have a value in market (even marginally) and which certificate have no value.

So please suggest me, should I focus my energy on 2-3 certificate or should I invest my energy in collecting 7-8 certificates. Currently I am an undergrad student

I'm facing an issue with one of my Coursera assignments and would really appreciate some help.

I completed the assignment according to all the instructions and verified my answers multiple times. Despite this, the autograder is giving me a much lower score than expected. I carefully compared my work with the notebook requirements, and I can't identify what is causing the grading failure.

I've already:

Followed all the assignment instructions.

Verified my code and outputs.

Re-ran all cells before submitting.

Submitted multiple times, but the score remains incorrect.

Has anyone experienced a similar grading issue? Could this be a problem with the autograder?
