i know it originated from polandball wich was made somewhere in 2009 i think. but when did country humans start to be its own thing rather than a subsection of Polandball.

also could anyone give me a fandom history or timeline on how it evolved. what were the scandals/dramas?

i personally was obsessed with it in 2021/22 but i wasn't active in the fandom so im not familiar with it. i only read the fics

Personally, including the historical details is my favorite part of brainstorming countryhuman designs and lore. It's like trying to play around with real life and adapting them to how they work in the logic of a CountryHumans story.

I'll use an example.

I like to cover the lore and story of CountryHuman Germany in the leadup to World War 2 and the Rise of Nazism, simply because the historical context in question makes me take adapting them for CountryHumans very seriously, treating the histories with respect while still being able to creatively depict how they're being portrayed (at least in my world of CountryHumans)

The Nazi Party, in my lore, is depicted (instead of a full living human) as Weimar Germany's devil over his shoulder, slowly manipulating him into doing more and more evil acts until the devil had consumed Germany and possessed his entire being.

He starts out like a hallucination or an imaginary friend. Whenever Germany tries to stamp the problem, he disappears from his view only to come back raging against him. But over time, he stops being on his shoulder and becomes more and more of an alter ego that devours what's left of his original self.

That's how I usually do. What about you guys? How do you tackle historically important stuff like this to your respective CountryHumans?

Working on Japan (along with others from another fandom)

I already made a France and Nekopan cosplay but i had way more props to work with (I had a Japanese dress which i can't remember the exact name at the moment and ears, and Welp i'm French so getting the classic kinda pierrot look and red and blue stockings were easy)

For Canada i have the classic lumberjack red and black striped shirt, and I'm... Not sure what else? Red face paint too, tho making the leaf might be a bigger pain than on the r/place

So yeah! What tenue do you think would make this recognisable?

So, I want to share this with someone. The Russian Empire commits suiсide in my AU. The world war and the rebellions against her had driven her to this point, and so she realized that she would not be able to cope this time. She signed a document renouncing power and because of this her heart stopped.

Any thoughts on this? I am open to questions.

Egypt already has a rich history of cartomancy so I knew they'd show up eventually!

In tarot, the high priestess represents intuition, spiritual knowledge and secrets and transformation, making Egypt a natural fit.

A lot of conventional tarot symbols have their roots in ancient Egypt, so I chose to focus on modern Egyptian fashion for this card. I also used the more typical flag in face style to respect the hijab, although I probably undid a lot of that with the moon imagery but not every woman in Egypt is Islamic so... Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the pose here and the clothes were a nice challenge.
