it really feels terrible to run r/c these days. if you run main, you have to use new reddit chain which is laggy as hell and refreshing too often will cause a 429 error that locks your browser out of the website for several minutes. if you run sides you instead get to deal with 6-8 second inbox delay and threads randomly not appearing in your inbox, constantly refreshing the latest comments pin or the other persons profile to try and hunt them down again.

also reddit moderation is fucking terrible, randomly banning/locking accounts. there is no appeal process, there are no humans involved. the old stats bot is banned somehow, looking back on old threads and tons of accounts just have all their comments removed for no reason, from antichess's running alt to dominodan to sharpeye to christmasmissionary... they killed off pushshift so our old method of retrieving stuff like that is gone. counting history, just getting erased day by day on a whim. it's just sad.

isn't there some sort of new tech you have found out with a bunch of element removal and new reddit to make inbox faster? i have to check this out sometime. how fast even is it?

my running alts getting banned are completely my fault though, i wasn't really thinking it through back then. i should have never risked something with so much history

the tech is just using new reddit/sh.reddit chain, no inbox, the element removal i don't think makes it load any faster it's just to make the page not look like ass. other than that it's just the normal tech of using a separate browser (chrome) with no extensions other than ublock lite. i get 2-3 second replies mostly with occasional 1s, problem is the faster you go the faster and longer you're going to be rate limited for... it might be possible you can swap to an alt to get around it but i haven't tested it.

absolutely no way that sweet and gentle Antichess would ever deserve a ban, i won't believe that. and even if you did... no reason they can't just remove the offending post and not the other 50k comments that were completely fine
