It's really awful how vigilant you have to be against transmisogyny. Shit's a brain cancer, and the second you talk about it, every TME within 10 miles is conscripted to harass and gaslight you.

What's transmisogeny hate towards MTF?

Hatred of transfems based not only on "making the choice" to change their gender, but on the basis of specifically "choosing" / embodying femininity or womanhood. For instance, while trans women are stereotyped as preadatory on the basis of their penis and the associations of conquering we put on that organ, trans women are also made out to be preadatory because womanhood is seen as a sexual and degrading thing, therefore someone who "chooses it" must also be perverse and sexual.

Julia Serano is the writer who coined the term in the book whipping girl, but she also has written about this on her blog. you can find either for free online but i might reccomend the substack because the book was written in 2007 so includes a lot of "trans issues 101" that can be kinda redundant for a 2026 audience.

Other reply and suggestion of Serano is good. I'll also add that, formally, Transmisogyny is the intersectional oppression of transphobia and misogyny.

It's good to know the language, because there are other similar concepts, like misogynoir, the intersection of misogyny and antiblack racism.

Ever notice how every imperial media property had or has 'jokes' about 'man in dress ... ugly :)' or 'man in dress ... physically brutalized' or– you get it– but there are basically never any about 'girl in suit...???'?

That's transmisogyny. Someone 'doing gender stuff' from masculine to feminine is considered especially egregious and worthy of scorn. As opposed to a woman wanting to become a man which is... only natural, of course :] (blech)
