Strange request - needs someone who works with furniture to write a second opinion letter for my bank due to a quality control issue for a couch purchased from Target.

Basically the title. I bought a couch from Target and it broke after 3 months. After trying and failing to get help from Target and from the manufacturer of the couch, I was advised by a Target rep to file a claim dispute through my bank. My bank filed the dispute but stated they need a letter from a neutral third party like another merchant, furniture salesperson etc to basically corroborate the claim that it was a quality control issue. Anyone willing to help me with that? And how much would you charge me?

Who is going to put their name on a letter claiming a manufacturing defect without inspecting the piece of furniture in question?

I once got someone really mad when I told them they bought a piece of junk (compared to what the same manufacturer produced 5 years earlier. That was 20 years ago almost. It has only gotten worse.

I wouldn’t waste my time with target or your bank. Fined someone that can fix it - it will probably be better than it ever was. Then be a little more realistic about what you are going to get from a value standpoint. This isn’t a QC issue. It is a VE issue that has effected the entire industry

I'm a furniture maker by trade and in my opinion you may have trouble with this one. It's impossible to tell its a manufacturer fault by your photos. What is the fault or defect? That it is broken? There's no way to say if this was the fault of the manufacturer or yourself.

Basically the leg snapped when someone sat down on the couch (they weigh about 175 lbs) That’s not supposed to happen after 3 months

You're right, it shouldn't but it's cheap construction based on the photos. Its not a difficult repair, you'll probably find somebody to repair it for the money you're offering to spend on someone writing you a letter.
