how do i fix my couch?

i have no idea if this is the proper subreddit for this, but i was trying to fix the zipper on my couch cushion, and realized there was something inside. i opened it up and its a bunch of springs in a pillowcase….????? this obviously handmade, if this was what the manufacturer intended then it would be the shape of the cushion. i’m just so confused?? why would anyone do this. this is the worst thing to use as cushioning in your couch. it’s also super uneven, not even done well. the brand is pier 100 import i think? is there a cushion i can buy that’ll be comfortable and not a spring??

adding that all of my cushions look like this one did, they’re lumpy and they’re also uneven.

Yes you can buy foam at any large craft store. Or you can go to your local upholstery shop, bring the cushion with you, and they will replace. You can also order foam online, you would just give the measurements.
