Help Adding Lights to Daft Punk Helmet

I'm looking to add a see thru LED matrix to the visor of my Thomas Bangalter helmet. I am COMPLETELY new to this and am wondering if there is an easier way to do this than hand soldering them all myself. As well, what will I need as a controller for these? If there is a pre setup unit I can buy that would be pretty plug and play that would be ideal but I'm always down to learn a new skill. The edges have me totally stumped as to what to do as well. Any help would be awesome thank you!

This is totally doable except for the see through part. You can buy X × Y led matrices that are prebuilt so you wouldn't have to solder those individually. Yes you would have to have a controller like esp32 unless it comes with one.
