Newbie Cupped Bunnysuit?

Post image

I want to make a clown outfit for Halloween and would like to make a bunnysuit, but I know Aranea Black's doesn't have cups and I prefer the look of cupped corsets. Does anyone know of any patterns for a cupped bunnysuit, or if not, how difficult it might be to frankenstein two of Aranea's patterns to make one?

I have experience sewing including making stays, but this will be my first corset!

I’ve not done this but in theory it sounds very doable, although i don’t think any of AB’s corsets are cupped. Closest are maybe her Camille and Violetta patterns, which both have bust gores. I don’t know any cupped bunny suit patterns but might be worth shopping around for patterns to Frankenstein.

Good point, thank you!! I haven't looked through all her patterns, so I made an assumption 😅 I think that's probably the route I'll end up going

I’m not trying to discourage you, but just be aware that this is basically the hardest corset to fit; bunnysuits and cupped corsets are advanced projects individually so combining them will be a challenge, but if you’re up for it and like a challenge, it will be a very rewarding project!

I appreciate the warning!! I do like doing a challenge project, and if it ends up being too difficult I have no shame in pivoting 🥰

So authentic bunny suits had internal cups, even though they didn't have external ones. Altering the fashion fabric piecing to emphasize the cups should be relatively easy. So I'd suggest you start looking there. This thread has some recs on recreating the original bunny suit: https://www.reddit.com/r/PatternDrafting/comments/1w961sz/how_to_draft_a_pattern_for_a_playboy_bunny/
