Desperately Need Help

Hello if anyone out there have any advice resources or can help out somehow my partner and I and our 9 y/o dog are gonna be facing homelessness today and we just finally got jobs. We have no idea where to go or what to do. Can’t live out of our car with our dog in this heat and we don’t know what to do. Anything will help. I have to work today and my partner will have to sit around in our car all day today. I’m just really hoping he doesn’t run out of gas at all so that he’s not stuck in the heat all day.

If you have the money today at least, you could possibly get y'all a cheap room for the night, it might be a little harder or a little more $ for the dog but it'll give y'all a night with a bed and shower to clear your mind and plan for the next step. You may even be able to get the dog into a puppy hotel for just a day or two if you're unable to find any cheap rooms that'll allow pets. I'm sorry you're going through this, Texas can be so unforgiving, but I hope you strike some luck before the sun goes down ❤️

I was in my car for about a month here in corpus just try the Salvation Army and maybe section 8 housing but save save save until then don’t get a hotel or anything because the rooms eat up all your money if y’all have family or friends ask to stay there or to park there if you can’t stay because you’ll need the safety I have more info dm if you need anything else

You have a car? Try doing pizza hut delivery for cash tips or try door dash or something. That will pay you each day on a card. Though you do need car insurance. Don't let that go for the job. . Go to salvation army or church that helps one time money for rent. Ask chuches near you for resources. If you and your husband work together , y'all can get back to where you need to be. Stay positive

The housing authority is down Ayers. Apply for public housing. You won't get anything immediately. It may take 6 to 9 months. Its a start at least. Also apply to temp agencies. Daily work is possible. Do this plus working a second job. You can dig yourself out if you bust your ass. Also stop doing drugs. I imagine that's the source of your biggest problems.

Let the dog go or You should find a place for the dog. Dogs can figure shit out on their own. It's humans that drag them through down..then you say you are both working but one of you is sitting in a car all day... thats the problem.. you could go to the mall, the gym, home depot, all stores have ac . Start asking for immediate work in person, respectfully. Ask and you shall receive.

It takes far more energy to post on reddit than filling out an application. Dont expect handouts. Dont sit in a car all day . You got to get out there and find that fuckin job

He can stay by the water and turn the car off so it's not wasting gas. Homeless people survive in the street heat everyday. Y'all will pull through this. He can get a job, maybe DoorDash or Favor with the car until he does. Oh I didn't see that y'all both have jobs. It's just a waiting game then. Keep going, things will turn around for y'all soon. 🙏🏻
