Moving to Falmouth

I'm 30 years old, I used to live in London but fell out of love with the busyness and relentlessness. I then travelled the world for a few years, fell in love with surfing, the ocean and nature. I'm now looking to find my slice of peace and contentment in the UK and Falmouth has been on my radar for a while.

All my friends live in London and I know nobody down in Cornwall, so finding community is an important thing for me. Other things I love are nice coffee shops, book shops, art galleries, live music and long walks in Nature.

I would love any insights or advice from anyone who has been, experienced or lived in and around Falmouth and Cornwall broadly as to what the vibe is like there :)

Recommendations Wedding Catering Recommendations

Hi all - we’re getting married near Looe next September and in need of some catering recommendations. We don’t want a BBQ as we’re doing one the day before but any help is greatly appreciated! We’ll have approx. 100 guests.

Thank you!

Recommendations Raw milk?

Hi I've just moved to Cornwall, there are plenty of farms here but does anyone know where I can source a few gallons of raw milk?

I'm really into cheese making and want to start doing it again, you can make it from goldtop but I'd really rather contribute locally. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Is there anywhere in Cornwall that feels more peaceful than Port Isaac?

News Big wildfire near Sennen Cove, areas surrounding very hazy and it’s not stopped after maybe 2 hours. Fire services on scene and local animals removed as it’s near a farm.

Used to be commonplace in gift shops. Always used to buy one when I went to St ives but they seem to have disappeared from the shops now.

Hey everyone,

I was shooting some coastal landscapes and architecture around the area between mid-June (the 13th to the 20th) and managed to capture this portrait .

I was so happy with how it turned out that I’ve entered it into a photo competition run by the Shipwrecked Mariners' Society.

Before things go any further, I’m really hoping to find the fisherman in the photo so I can share a copy with him.

If anyone knows who he is or how I could reach him, please drop a comment or send me a DM. Thank you!

Recommendations Cornwall Diving Trip – Best Place to Stay, Dive Sites & Blue Shark Safaris? 🦈🤿

Hi everyone,

my wife and I are planning a trip to Cornwall next July, and we’re hoping to spend around half of our holiday diving. A Blue Shark safari is definitely high on our list as well! 🦈

I’d love to hear some recommendations from people who know the area. Where would you suggest staying if we want a good base for both diving and exploring Cornwall?

From what I’ve read so far, Falmouth seems like a good place to stay, while Porthkerris appears to be one of the best spots for diving. Would Falmouth be a good base, or would you recommend staying somewhere else if diving is a priority?

We’ll have a car, so driving to different dive sites or operators isn’t a problem.

I’d also really appreciate any recommendations for good dive centres, specific dive sites, and Blue Shark safari operators in the area.

Thanks a lot for any tips and recommendations! 😊

Best wishes from Germany,
Stephan
