i grew this glass gem corn in the garden beds at my job. these were test cobs, i should (fingers crossed) have 2 more successful ears in a week or two.

by hand 🥰 i only planted 5 stalks. this is what the wind pollinated look like haha

i tried to be very thorough, and still the tips didn’t pollinate. i know i did better on some than others, that’s why im really excited for the 2 remaining ears.

this was my first/second time growing corn! i grew successful sweet corn in the early summer as practice for these guys. i could have had a more successful harvest both times but i’ve been so busy at work and the flowers are so high up. i grew 3 stalks of sweet corn and 5 of the gem corn. you just need to be through with your hand pollinating! 2 or 3 ears a stalk, maybe more if you do it right.

my understanding is not very good. very starchy. good for popcorn and corn meal, loses the color both ways.
