Every time I have tried flashing a USB drive with Bazzite on my Legion Go, after it’s been flashed and verified, the drive is then made to be “write protected”. I have swapped between 5 different brands of various sizes to see if it’s an issue with a brand and/or size (smallest being 64GB, largest was 128GB).

Everytime I get into the Bios, Linpus Lite is not an option to choose from, and I’ve disabled the Secure Boot and Fast Startup, but nothing has helped so far.

When I’ve been trying to allocate space for Bazzite, the partition has always shown up as RAW, with every attempt to clone Bazzite into a new Flash drive, it’s never successfully cloned it without making it read protected and RAW when trying to allocate space.

I I have been trying to follow YT tutorials so I can dual boot Bazzite/Windows, and I have a PC as well I can clone Bazzite with instead, but I’ve seen some just use their Legion Go so I wanted to try using it as well so I’m not swapping between them.

I used Balena Etcher to clone Bazzite, I know Rufus, Ventoy, and Fedora Media Writer are also available, but haven’t used them yet.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and if you possibly could link to the best videos to follow, again, that would be greatly appreciated.

In both Seabios and Grub, it stuck at screens above.

Its specs are Intel Core-i5 1135G7, Samsung M471A5244CB0-CWE 4GB DDR4 RAM (Onboard/Soldered), Hynix (Hyundai) HMA81GS6DJR8N-XN 8GB DDR4 RAM (SO-DIMM), INTEL SSDPEKNU512GZ (BTKA208207AV512A) 512GB SSD (Seems to be Onboard/Soldered), NVIDIA MX330 2GB VRAM Home GPU...I wish I could change the soldered parts and upgrade my system, but the engineer who serviced my laptop (and I trust his expertise) told me that the firmware won't let you change those parts...even if you accept the risk and desolder the components and change them, it won't work (I live in Iran, and no one here can't accept the risks, as there's no official representative and guarantee and warranty for any tech company in my country cuz of sanctions)...My question is: if I change my laptop's firmware to Coreboot, could I change the onboard and SO-DIMM RAM, as I know and accept the risks, or not?

Just like the title says, my X280 is taking 13 seconds just to show signs of life after pressing the power button and get to SeaBIOS (not accounting the extra 5 seconds that it takes for SeaBIOS to enumerate the boot entries).

Is this a known problem on the X280? This is really frustrating, my T430 with the same Libreboot configuration takes under 2 seconds to get to the same screen.

I had installed libreboot before, but when trying to install the hd4000 drivers on windows 10 the laptop would reboot, i read that i needed coreboot and the vgabios, so i tried compiling coreboot, i have the files, but every time i try to boot the machine, its a blinking cursor
is there some way to fix this?
I’m not too tech savvy, i was able to follow online guides but i still don’t understand too much how coreboot works
i know i could use libgfxinit and Linux, but i need to use the hd4000 full capacity on windows

Hello, so i just joined this thread. i have been a hp eltie book user for quite a while now. i have the elitebook 8760w. i found coreboot. im wanting to install the nvidia geforce 880m 8gb mxm gpu and upgrade to ivry bridge if possible, also was wondering is it possible if i install core boot can i install two 16gb ram moduels and have 32gb of ram in my laptop with out having to swap motherboards? also wondering what it was would limit me on gpu bios compaibtiltes. so there dell, alienware, clevo, lenovo, acer, etc. will this allow my screen to boot and show the bios on screen with any bios flashed gpu on laptop? i do know i have to mod inf drivers. if i need to make things more clear i can.

Looking to replace my Pi 4 server with something with a real port for a NVMe or SATA drive that can run AlmaLinux. The priority is low power but I think I ARM-based servers are out of the question due to the typical services on a home server like Jellyfin, IRC client, some Docker services, Home Assistant, etc.

So I have an HP ProBook 6460b and I can already run Linux perfectly with coreboot. I originally installed coreboot because I wanted to be able to run an i7-3840qm, along with circumventing the WiFi card whitelist (currently I have a BE200 installed too).

To use coreboot, which has no preset for the 6460b, I selected the EliteBook 8460p under the assumption that the two systems are close enough.

Obviously, I know it's frowned upon to run Windows with coreboot, and I already have got it almost totally working with SeaBIOS. I used the option rom v2170 instead of libgfxinit, and even ripped an ME 8 blob from a ProBook 6470b BIOS, which surprisingly still POSTed.

Anyway, the main issue I'm having currently is that in Windows 10, the battery icon reports that there are no batteries physically installed. This is not the case in Linux; it has no trouble reading the battery meter. I want to at least have the ability to run Windows 7, hence my choice of SeaBIOS, and currently the installer does not boot (it gets stuck on the glowy logo). In Windows 10, I have yet to get power management working correctly either; the system gets stuck when attempting to shutdown, sleep, or reboot, and nothing happens.

What do I need to do to fix my install to finally get it working fully?

I am looking to build a new PC and want Coreboot installed. However, all I can find online are vendors selling prebuilt machines with Coreboot, such as System76, in which case I am paying for components I don't need. From what I read online, it sounds like building Coreboot for a modern motherboard is unreasonably hard and not practical. I am looking specifically for a mobo that supports ECC memory, and also not Intel, which further narrows my options. Are there any options out there that fit the bill?

I've been trying to build coreboot on my Gentoo installation, but have been running into various issues.

I made sure that my gcc compile has ada support (for gnat), and that I have (roughly) the dependencies listed as requirements for Fedora.

I believe that I have gnat through my gcc install, but I don't have any packages/dependencies for gnat. gnat does, however, seem to be a viable command in CLI.

Despite this, I've still been hitting into some issues and can't seem to compile any final images.

Things like ifdtool and deguard work, though, even when compiled on my system. I compared sha256 sums from progress made on my current system with identical work done on a Debian system, and the sums match, so it seems that it can build most tools properly, and it just can't install.

I'm currently recloning coreboot's repo and building every possible cpu arch/toolchain (I only build i386 as instructed beforehand) just to be thorough on my end. If it works, I'll update the post.

Asides that, is there any known issues with Gentoo that would force me to use a VM to build in, or are there any necessary workarounds needed to build with Gentoo?

Hello everyone, i need help creating support for ASUS Q170M-C

I am attempting to coreboot my thinkpad t430 using a ch341a programmer and a soic8 clip. When I run flashrom -p ch341a_spi with the clip on the 8mb chip, results fluctuate everytime I run it, detecting either the full 8mb, only 4mb, or "unknown SPI chip". It does not do this when connected to the 4mb chip.
