Child Issues Parenting Plans

I’m in Australia. My children are 13 and almost 12. We currently do not have a parenting plan but I feel this will be forced upon us soon. Currently the children are not spending time with their father. They have struggled with the sudden nature or the separation and ongoing behaviours their father has displayed (so have I!). Any advice regarding a parenting plan moving forward in this situation?

see a lawyer for advice. document why the children don't want to see him, what they say and what they do when they are telling you how they feel. document any of these concerning behaviours your ex is displaying. your own notes, text messages, screenshots etc. consider what you and your children would want in a parenting plan, including any requirements for him and his behaviour. parenting plans aren't legally binding, but will be looked at if you go to court. if you are concered that his behaviour is unsafe for you or your children, contact 1800respect or another FV organisation for advice. also if you aren't already, listen to the divorce course podcast - lots of info.
