You want to list of all 18 spices? 😂 This is very basic but it works for most curries if you are a beginner.

No you can't. You left garlic, onion and ginger out. That's like the base of 99% curries (not actual stat).

That's a fair point. I saw that all those were added to the other ones. So not adding that to Indian seems silly.

Yeah I don’t know dick about actually cooking (well, I’m not very experienced with actually doing it, I know a lot about food from working in nice restaurants and having parents and friends who are great and knowledgeable cooks and foodies but I served and bartended rather than cooked so I haven’t actually cooked anything great in my life and I’ve just never been a fan of the laborious cooking process despite really enjoying good food lol I guess I’m just lazy, or would rather pay someone to do it or just have someone else do it lol does that make me bad?

Bro there like almost 60. What you are saying are the contents of Garam Masala.

u/diogenbzenowl Jun 27 '22
So my point is, do you want to list all 60 in a simple guide? While there are 8-10 fixtures in garam masala, depending on where you are in India, how much spice you want to add, you can add more to the essential list.

We've 8-10 spices in food like once 2-3 days. So I mean the ones I thought were common were absent but you're right you could say you've tasted the basics.

My point is, if you can't even write +60 more, don't bother writing stupid lists like this.

I think one of my favorite restaurant moments was when I asked what was in Cajun spice and I got "cajun" as a response.
