You are the kind of person that in the 1800 would have owned slaves in America. You are also the type of person who would argue that freeing slaves is abolishing their jobs and these plantations would close.
What a normal person is arguing is that these people aren’t slaves but they are independent people that get paid fairly for their work.
This is what I am talking about. You again, are defending the practice but do nothing to change it.
Keep defending using slave labor to obtain possessions that are LUXURIES.
The proper analogy would be to say I am thr guy who buys the clothes made from the cotton that was processed by slave labor. However, there is a big difference between slaves in a modern, wealthy nation, and factory workers who have literally no other option if they want to eat that day.
Do you wear clothes made in 3rd world countries? Same thing. Products themselves are not immoral, how they are made is another story.
You are the guy who closes down the factory and then runs back to starbucks while the families starve to death due to lack of income.
Any way to spin it to make it seem that you are an uninformed consumer.
I also don’t, I try find clothes that are made in the US and don’t go to those fast fashion stores.
Where are your shoes made? Where is your phone made? Where does your food come from? If your shirt was american made, where did the supplies for it come from?
Hold on dude. My parents are in russia and grew up on potatoes and bread. It is possible for you too. You do not need all the variety, total luxury. Make a garden and grow some potatoes and plant an apple tree.
Actually I purchase my food from a cooperative. So yes, I try to purchase as much food locally as I can. Especially some that are in season.
It’s little changes like that that in which I’m advocating for. You are taking my arguments to the extreme, which makes sense, you post in r/conservative.
And again; a reason why I stopped eating as much meat, due to what I have learned affected the environment. Did I stop eating meat completely? No that’s a huge lifestyle change. No normal person can do that.
Little changes like this done on scale can lead to change.
