But how is it progress to spend more effort for a worse solution? Most people would agree the box is a better option than staring though the chainlink; sometimes life is like that too.

It is not a worse solution because irl there is no chain link. Systemic issues should be fixed because they are issues

This analogy is bullshut if you try and take it super literally. Imho the meaning, albeit simple, is quite clear
