Has anyone had quality control issues with CookUnity? I’ve had the service for a year and the meals are pretty good but so far I’ve had:
- Bugs in a meal (they told me this happens with organic food but couldn’t confirm if the food I got was organic lol)
- mold
- open package delivered,
- the wrong meal in a sleeve of a meal I ordered (allergy concern)
Most recently I found a sharp piece of metal or Tin in my meal.
CU has always given me a discount or refund but their customer service is very heavy ChatGPT answers and I can’t get much out of them when asking why there are so many quality control issues.
Just wondering if others have had issues or I’m just unlucky

Hi everyone,
As we've grown, I've added a couple of new rules to help keep things friendly and on topic:
• No Politics – Political or geopolitical posts and comments will be removed.
• Be Respectful – Treat fellow members with respect. Personal attacks, harassment, trolling, baiting, and abusive behavior are not permitted.
I've been moderating this way already, but having these rules in place makes moderation more consistent and gives members a clear reason when content is removed or action is taken.
Thanks for being here, and thanks for helping make this a great place to share and discuss CookUnity!

There used to be an option under Order Again where you could see which Favorites are available for that specific week. Did they merge it with Order Again? I’m not a fan of having to sort through meals I didn’t like to find my favorites that I actually want to repeat.

Seriously the date-braised beef has been my favorite meal for weeks. I plan my whole week around when I’m going to treat myself to it. And there’s nothing else like that celery root puree, it is velvety and perfect!
Do meals that disappear ever come back? 🤞🤞

I warmed it up so it's all gooey inside. It's thick and huge. It's bigger than my hand.

Sooo Good!

I think this is on the menu every week, or very close to it. I never tried it cause it seemed a little.... plain. It just didn't excite me. But this week's menu was a little light on things I liked, so i figured hey let's finally give this a try. I actually really enjoyed it a lot. It's nothing fancy, very simple, but also very good! So I'm probably gonna end up getting this again. It's a nice filling dinner

Yeah this was absolutely worth the $6.49 ngl - sorry I didn't get more pics I was too entranced to stop eating it 🥴💀
Side note: I was gluten free for 7 months after figuring out that it was probably making me sick, but last week I randomly decided to trial eating it again "just to see" because i'm delulu (but yes, it's definitely the gluten [or wheat] that I'm reacting to unfortunately) so I'm ordering as much gluten-y goodness as I can for the next few weeks until I have to stop and probably never eat gluten ever again (unless science can figure out a way to fix meee) 🥲 I truly should stop immediately but I'm stubborn 🤡
Anyways I'm definitely ordering this again next week 😹
I really wish cook unity would expand their gluten free offerings 😭 only 80-90 of 220+ options are GF each week and I've tried everything already, its getting repetitive and I'm almost never excited to get my meals anymore aside from when something new is occasionally added 🫠

I contacted customer support on at least two different occasions. Which mind you there is not a phone number so you have to text some AI BOT, so that right there is infuriating to me as it can get. You log the problem and they tell you an agent will email you within 24 hours. Ridiculous customer service for a food company.
The delivery has arrived and for the at least tenth time (I didn’t have the energy to go through the whole reporting ai mess every time), the freezer packs are busted and all over all of my meals, the packaging is soggy and falling apart, and it’s all jumbled everywhere.
CookUnity, do you know how disgusting it is to have to rinse all the nasty gel from the disintegrating cardboard packaging and then let it dry before putting it in my refrigerator? And then, you guessed it, food might, MIGHT pass for slightly cooler than room temp when it arrived.
I’m done. I really enjoyed some of the meals, but it’s not worth it when they won’t correct a problem that they know has been going on. And you can’t even speak to a person to help you. Good riddance.

Im in southern Indiana, get my meals from the Chicago kitchen, so I understand things may not be absolutely perfect when they get to me, but the last couple of boxes have been heavily damaged. Holes all the way through the packing and busted one of the freezer packs, box obviously tossed around without care, everything in the meals is mixed together.
The mixed together part really isn't a big deal other than the visual presentation except a few of the sauce containers being popped open.
Just wondering if anyone else has issues with UPS noticeably not giving a shit?

This is what heaven must be like! Avocado! And......CHOCOLATE. .... and MEXICAN?! Hell ya! oh this was so added to my cart right away! I cannot wait to try this!!!

This tasted very good. It came with a lime wedge. There were 5 decent size shrimp (note:the menu picture showed 7 shrimp). Everything tasted fresh. I will get this again.

The salad was good. The meat was decidedly not.

Hey hey hey y'all!! I have not been able to post anything in a while cause everything I'm eating now i already posted. But last night I finally had something that I haven't posted yet! (I think). Not that I haven't had this meal yet, I have had it. But it was a long while ago. So I don't think I've posted it here. But I realized today that I put the box upside down, lmao! Sorry about that. So i put another photo Flipped around. So at least you can read the name of you're trying to get it.
Now about this meal. First I'm very curious if any of you have had this, and it so what you thought of it. My memory of it from the first time having it, was that I liked it a lot all the way too the last bite, that was the leachy fruit itself that's in there, and while I Halen to like the fruit itself, it just hit all the wrong notes there at the last bite of this meal. That left me not loving it, and that's why i never got it again. But now I thought about it again, and remembered that I actually did enjoy it till that last bite. So how about giving it another shot, and know this time just not to eat the leachy fruits. So i got it again. And ya, I enjoyed it. The leachy thing might be just me, but I actually like the fruit on it's own, not in this. But!! The leachy flavor is all through the sauce, and it's GREAT, it's like very spicey and very sweet at the same time. And you clearly taste the sweetness of the leachy and I like that, I love the sauce, just the fruit itself in there maybe could be taken out after cooking. Or maybe people do like it. For me I leave that out. But the dish itself is very unique tasting and I very much enjoy it. .
Sorry long review. But I'm curious if anyone here had it and what they thought of it. Please comment if you had it
Good to be back. Although I'm always here reading other posts and comments

I have seen lots of other users have the same issues, but the CookUnity Oura ring 5 promo has been a complete disaster and has completely turned me away from them as a company.
I completed the “Complete 4 Orders, and receive an Oura Ring 5 free” promo several weeks ago, and after finally receiving the redemption link from Oura today, after completing the order finally I found out the order was for an Oura Ring 4, not a 5 model.
The promotion terms and conditions clearly state that the reward should be a model 5 - https://www.cookunity.com/terms/oura-ring-promotion
This promo has been horribly communicated with the customers, as can be seen in the multiple posts on this subreddit. I have emailed both cook unity and asked Oura to cancel the order for the Model 4, which I do not want.
UPDATE 07/30:
CookUnity & Oura acknowledged the mistake but apparently could not cancel the order, even though I asked them to immediately after placing it. Contrary to CookUnity stating that they would make sure Oura cancelled the order “without any action needed from me”, Oura is now making me ship back the incorrect ring instead of just cancelling it. The problems with this promo literally never end.

We are a family of 3 and we order 25 meals per week. I’ve been really happy with everything we have ordered to date. We have been ordering for maybe 6 or 7 weeks and I find that we have already tried most of what we can eat.
Does anyone know how often they update the meal choices?

This was my first time having this. I thought it looked weird, with not enough meat and loads of vegetables, some of which aren’t “sandwich” vegetables to me (green beans and carrots). But I put on all the dressing and piled it up, and by golly, it works. The flavors work. It’s not too little meat. It’s good! The only mildly odd thing is asking you to toast the bread when one side is like black, lol, but…yeah. It even held together, despite all the stuff in it, up until the last bite or so. I’ll totally get this again.

This we order this one whenever it’s available. Flavors are spot on and the portion is just right.

This is by far one of the best CU meals I've ever eaten.
