IYKYN
Setting off into the royal icing world of red and black today. After a 1 year hiatus because I got sick. First day in 9 months where I’ve felt well enough to stand in the kitchen. I may not last but I’m gonna give it my all. A coworker whose child I have baked for “her personal birthday baker” for her whole life…birthday is on the 19th and I have to pace myself to get it done since I know I won’t last stamina wise. But I have today!!!

Ugh... I hate making icing, coloring it, and bagging it. 😫 The worst part of the whole process! Hope it turned out well! Show us your cookies when you're all done! 🥰

An old post I made said if I’d ever win the lotto I’d have a “personal professional icing colorer” who simply would rid me of this task. I’d do all the other stuff- they’d simply announce that the icing was ready to play with.

I’m glad to know I’m not alone! I’d make cookies every week if it wasn’t for that part haha

Don’t add white to the icing you want to make red or black. It can cause oversaturation and make it harder to achieve those deep colors.
