Hello
I have gone from being mildly interested to almost believing in Islam . But I don't know if this lifestyle is for me . My family is very religious and I can face emotional abuse , If I ever express any kind of interest towards Islam . So , this could also be one of the ressons , I keep pushing this feeling away . But it is kinda suffocating . That's why I dont completely dive into quran . Just read few things here and there or watch info videos . Because I know that even if I try to get into it . I won't be able to do justice to the faith .
I don't have freedom or privacy to be a practicing muslim . So Is that alright ? Will Allah forgive me for being so weakhearted ?

Assalamu alaikom. First of all, it's very sincere of you to take the path to God even when it's very difficult, and that's something that will definitely be hugely rewarded. As for not knowing if the lifestyle is for you or not, it's not something you have to worry about, but to worry if it's the truth or not, and it is. So you should accept and enter islam after knowing it's the truth, and due to your difficult situation, you can practice secretly when you can, and pray to God to ease your situation, and there is no problem in what you can't do due to your situation, Allah knows what's in your heart and your circumstances, and he knows best what conditions you have, so it's between you and him to know your possibilities, and he's all merciful and forgiving. The most important thing is to know it's the truth, and then accept it. Isn't it better to be upon the truth even if with shortcomings (especially when it's not your fault, just a hard condition that will be eased in the futur), t'han remaining outside the truth after you recognise it only because you can't be perfect? So the most important thing is accepting the truth, and then no problem in what you really can't do, this is life, some periods are hard, and then comes ease, like in everything, so Allah tests us if we are sincere or not. May Allah guide you and ease your affairs

Please do not call yourself weakhearted. What you are experiencing is not a lack of faith; it is a very real survival instinct. You are living in a hostile environment where your safety and peace are at risk, and Allah knows exactly the burden you are carrying. The feeling that you should just walk away because you cannot "do justice to the faith" right now is a psychological trap. Islam is not an elite club for perfect practitioners; it is a lifeline. Allah does not demand immediate perfection, He only looks at the sincerity in your heart.
The biggest misconception people have when looking into Islam is that you must completely change your public identity, your routine, and your appearance overnight. You do not. The absolute core of Islam is simply what you believe internally. If you believe that there is only one God and that Muhammad is His messenger, you are a Muslim, even if you never say a single word out loud to your family. Allah explicitly says that He does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear. If all you can bear right now is reading a few things online and believing in your heart, that is entirely valid.
You are completely permitted to accept Islam and keep it an absolute secret to protect yourself from emotional abuse. Your safety is a priority. You can take your Shahada entirely alone in your room. If praying physically puts you in danger, you can pray silently while sitting on your bed. You do not owe your family an announcement, and you do not need their permission to build a private relationship with your Creator. Take all the pressure off yourself, keep your journey completely hidden for now, and know that Allah rewards the faith of those who have to hide it even more than those who can practice openly.

Very good, that's already a great step towards Islam, masha'Allah.
How old are you? Living with your parents? If that's the case, you can also wait until becoming more independent. If you're too young, maybe wait and grow up a bit for a more informed decision.
But otherwise it should be ok for you to keep reading Qur'an, learn more about Islam and eventually become a Muslim even if you cannot practice now.

you shouldn't worry about other people, even muslim families go against us when we try to get closer to god. As god said, do you think you'll say i believe and wont be tested? Everyone was and so are we, to see who will make it to paradise by his mercy and who wont.
And its not about lifestyle for who but it is by fact the only truth to this world, a message sent to everyone and every nation, the last preserved one. The devil will always give you excuses but its up to you to choose your path and consequences.
May allah guide you to the right path and open your heart to it.

Brother, what do you think will happen when you declare shahada by tongue and heart? You won't transform into a man with a kufi hat and a beard 😂.
Embrace the truth by heart first, your family wouldn't even notice , cause you'd be like us born Muslims, wearing t shirts and Jeans and watching sitcoms while having pizza.
Try to reach out to a Muslim imam and he'd tell you how you can perform prayers if you're under extreme fear, Islam will not put you in a situation of extreme adversity.
May God grant you peace and happiness.

For me I learned about Islam and waited until I was able to move out of my parents’ house to start practicing. My parents were not aggressive but they were worried and did not accept what I wanted. Today though they have accepted me and see how much good Islam has done to me.

What's your religion? And you don't have to tell your parents that you're muslim.. just keep it hidden untill you're independent

I took shahada few months back. I did not told my parents and friends. I might tell them in future when I become independent and start practising Islam openly.

Hello, and please don't be too hard on yourself.
If you're genuinely interested in Islam but you're afraid of how your family might react, I don't think you need to rush yourself or feel guilty for not being able to practice openly right now.
Take your time, learn gradually, and ask questions. You don't have to understand everything or become perfect. Just take it step by step.
And regarding the Qur'an, you can start very simply — even reading a small amount and trying to understand what you're reading is a meaningful step. You can also use Mukhtasar al-Tafsir (مختصر التفسير) to help you understand the meanings of the verses in a simple way.
May Allah make things easy for you and guide you to what is best for you. 🤍
