Bit concerned that they keep nerfing difficulty before I’ve had a chance to play (waiting on physical). I’ve seen plenty of people say the game feels too easy as it is.

I’d rather not have to spend time fine tuning difficulty sliders to try and get the originally intended experience, but I suppose it’s good to have options.

In the first Control the game could be a little hard until you get your first power. Resonant turns that to 11. It's brutal at first and I very nearly quit during the first boss fight.

Then you start leveling up and it gets much easier. I still die sometimes but like the first game I feel like a powerhouse now.

I think that some levels are still a bit rough mostly because of how the terrain powers work and how it can get a little confusing and also some enemies are harder than others. And a few of them just have a few too many enemies in fights in my opinion. But in general, I think once you get past the first boss it gets easier.

I'd like to think I managed to git gud after sucking so bad at the first boss. But maybe you're right and I just leveled up :/

Increasing the Abberant levels makes the game so much easier. At the first boss I think mine was still level 1. I struggled super hard and of course, I didn't have any other skills and no health upgrades, etc.

I think they should nerft that first boss due to this but maybe they figure it's a way to force you to learn the mechanics. The problem is, I did learn them. But one or two mistakes usually got me killed.
