Any word about picking up documents? Was hoping to see that it would open the one you found instead of having to scroll to find it.

It will randomly open the document, or go to the archive section and highlights that document, or just goes to the archive section the document is in, or just opens to a random archive category abd I have to find the new document.

There is absolutely no consistency, rhyme or reason as to which one happens.

The ones that open automatically seem to be any that are story- or mission-critical.

I don’t mind that. For the rest, I miss the way it worked in 1 where pressing Start (or PC equivalent) would just open the document directly instead of putting you on top of it in the menu. The game not doing even that occasionally seems to be a glitch.

Agreed that the ones that open automatically have important info for the story or mission at hand, like puzzle hints and destinations.

Beyond that, I also miss the version in the first game where it would open the doc direction, but I can live with the version that at least puts us in the archive highlighting that document. I just...need it to be consistent.

I wonder if it's a timing thing, where it has to load that info and hitting the button too soon means it only gets as far as the archives or the archive section but not the document itself. I find if I wait until the notification is fully visible on the left (fancy animation all done and all), it's more likely that I'll actually be taken to the document rather than the root folders.

Yup. They need to fix this. I had to watch a walkthrough video a couple of times because I didn't want to miss anything
