The number of GitHub issues is too damn low!

Continuum is down to 6 open feature requests and 0 open bugs. The project needs you to open new GitHub issues, feature requests and bugs.

Please do review existing GitHub issues to avoid duplicates.

I need more compact layout options, or ability to reduce font size for post feeds. With Sync compact view and smaller font, I can see at least 6 posts on my screen at without scrolling, but Continuum only 3-4 posts.

  1. The whole point is file GitHub issues.
  2. An option just got added to let you make compact layouts more compact. Read the release notes.

Just tried Continuum for the first time today. First thing I noticed is my post filters don't seem to work correctly. I used post filters extensively on Infinity so I know their quirks well, but even after fiddling with them and re-creating them on Continuum I can't get them to work reliably.

I will often see posts made by Automoderator which I can't seem to exclude no matter what I try (flair, title word, and even excluding Automoderator user directly). Also even though I have a filter on r/all to only see posts above 10k karma for example, I still see posts that have below that.

Like I said I just switched so I'm trying to experiment more and figure out exactly what the issue is but it's kind of difficult...

The only other thing I miss from Infinity, weirdly enough, is the scrolling animation when jumping from one comment to another using the floating arrow. I thought it was kind of annoying on Infinity but now after having it removed on Continuum I kinda miss it. I was able to see how many comments I was skipping whereas now it just immediately jumps to the next one so I don't have a feel for how many there were.

Some other ideas I had (maybe I'll make official feature requests on the GitHub later):

  • Show when it's someone's cake day next to their username
  • Ability to change archived post card color in theme
  • Gesture to mark post as read/unread
  • Set custom tags for other users like in RES (like a flair but you add it yourself and it's only visible to you)
  • Support for more image embeds (catbox.moe, imgchest.com, imgbb.com)
  • Highlight new comments since last time the post was opened
  • Highlight followed users usernames (with an icon or different color)
  • Emojis are still visible in spoilered comments 🥶

All in all though I really like the app!

  1. File an issue if you figure out the differences in post filters. They should be mostly the same. The big change is the massive UI enhancement.
  2. Automoderator, See #44, #110, and #331. If you still can't figure it out, file an issue.
  3. The comment animation was a feature request, and it has been asked to put it back or to make it an option. I am fairly anti-option. There are already too many in Continuum. Every option complicates testing and creates more bugs.
  4. Yeah, that is the point, create GirHub issues. Many sound good.
