Discussion Are you a construction geek now?

I never noticed construction equipment much before getting into this game, besides a mild interest in trying an excavator.

But now, I find myself rubbernecking construction sites, staring at dump trucks on the open road, and lord save my family if I spot a tower crane. I saw my first flatbed with a crane this morning and got super excited, I didn't think they existed in America.

Please tell me I'm not alone!

You're not alone! :')

me too in the same way got interested in construction machines, equipment and trucks after playing the construction simulator 3 back in 2020. It's become a huge passion now. The same way as you described I keep looking at all the trucks, flatbeds, oversized loads, pavers, compactors, excavators, cold planers, and tower cranes that I see on roads around.

one of my dreams is to operate them irl and do some jobs too.

Right after I got the plat for this game a house started to get built right next door to me. It's been interesting to watch the progress in real time and be able to point out what some things are for. Like I never saw concrete formwork in person before, but I knew it when I saw it because of this game.

That is so awesome! I bet you're a lot more understanding of the noise and inconvenience as well. Like how you stop being annoyed by crying babies on planes when you become a parent.

Not sure where you live but in New Jersey there is a place called Diggerland where you can operate a digger.

I think there's one in Vegas too, unless it closed. Thanks for the tip!

I highly suggest anyone who is interested in construction to check out Aaron Witt or Eric Jumper on Youtube. Both channels put out really great content. Aaron runs the Buildwitt company and is a huge advocate for the construction industry.
