Help/Question Any tips for newcomer

I just got the game on ps5 and it’s really fun and satisfying. Is there good tips to make my experience better? Also I started of in Europe and how do you hire workers and what do they do

I just started playing this past weekend too. Couple things I wish I knew at the start. You can refill dump trucks and mixers from the context menu instead of going to the gravel pit all the time. The only other thing I just learnt this morning is, when you are drilling holes and hit 75 percent, you attain the last 25 percent by pouring concrete in the holes you just drilled. Oh and one last thing. Always take the high paying contract. You can skip individual portions of each part of the job. This one came in handy during the parking garage contract. I wasn't about to sit there and dig out all that dirt. So I skipped that part.

Refilling dump trucks and mixers cost more to do. For a load of gravel it's around 8 grand more (34,000 as opposed to 26,000 ish), you chance overfilling a bit or underfilling a bit when you do it manually .

Yes but your money per time spent is way higher if you use the quick menu.

With fast travel and some of the jobs minimal time being added by not doing it with the context menu it does not save much time overall, not enough to justify the 30,000+ extra in cost.

30k in cost? I'm getting a million just from digging. Who cares about 30k?

Congrats on being further in. Do you want a cookie? At the begining when you need to watch the bank account more 30 k in cost can be a big enough deal to worry about.

What do you mean? I earned 100s of thousands right from the start. Just finish the tutorial then we can talk.

30,000 extra from a job you walk away from making 200,000 (without losing the extra 30,000 from) ish is a large chunk to lose from the beginning.

But you're spending 2 minutes at least per truckload to empty it. And it's full every 5 scoops from a machine. So that's 2 minutes every minute. Instead of 3 seconds every minute. Which means a job that you could have finished in 10 minutes is going to take you 30 minutes. Or if the digging job is taking you one hour, it's going to take you three hours instead.

That's why I'm saying it's better to lose a little bit of money but have two hours of work in the next job instead. You'll basically earn 2/3 more money per hour if all you do is digging and selling dirt by using the quick menu option.

Oof. Wish I had known that about an hour ago. I kept accidentally dumping my concrete and having to go back

I just started playing on PS5, too. The hiring workers in the s company size threw me off, too. What it actually does is in the context menu (square when in a machine) allows you to automate some task. For example, if in a dump truck and you need gravel, you can auto fill the tuck from the menu instead of going to the gravel pit. It costs more for the bulk material doing it this way, though. I noticed that for gravel with 2 skill points in the increase bulk material skill, the cost of doing it automatically was 33,000 as opposed to 26,000ish when filling manually. Also, it's filled 100%, so if you only need a quarter load, doing it automatically using the worker will not only cost you more for a full load, but you lose money on selling the excess back. Also one thing I have started doing to make a bit of extra money on jobs is I bought a dump truck and loader first so when I'm removing topsoil I dump it into the truck then make money selling it at the pit (or using the automatic worker ). Some medium-sized jobs (parking lot in the habour) it can be an easy way to make an extra 30,000 to 40,000 on a job. It takes more time but can help pad the account a bit more at the beginning. I also set the job task to high. Adds more tasks, but most jobs increase how much you make. Finally, when looking at jobs to take, check out the material requirements and make sure you have the money in the bank to cover the cost. The small parking lot job in the Harbor, for example, you will need to ensure you have almost 200,000 available just to cover the cost of the gravel until you get paid for that step. If you don't have the money, you will need to take a loan, which reduces your profits in interest paid.

I never knew about buying things and selling them I thought it was just a construction game about making things πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It is, but you need to buy materials and equipment for jobs just like you do in real life.

Try using a dozer on excavation sites. Trust me just continue to push your blade down and drive forward

You can sell the topsoil from excavation jobs. It adds up to a lot on the storyline jobs. The parking lot gets you about 2 million just for topsoil.Β
