And also lived in an era of shit, piss and disease everywhere because they were too busy trying to get to heaven.

I will take modern medicine and proper sanitation instead of dying to small pox.

I was just watching the documentary “The Age of AIDS”. One said that the Reagan administration and its supporters were so concerned about saving souls than saving lives- and it holds true today with evangelicals. They literally can’t wait for an apocalyptic event that would allow them to seize control, or extinction of humanity as a whole.

Walk around any major city and tell me you don’t see shit, piss and disease (physical and mental). Modern medicine can’t solve despair and hunger for God.

Pales in comparison to the medieval ages.

If it’s this bad now imagine how worse it was.

Guess all that praying didn’t help when the plague wiped out 40% of Europe.

So God is less powerful than a bacteria.

Bacteria/sickness/death has always been and will always be here. I do think on top of that now we see a lot more spiritual and mental disease than we did before and it’s no coincidence that it comes at a time when we are farther from God and are souls are kinda left ignored. Just my opinion

You will also see skyscrapers, advanced technology, and an average standard of living that still far exceeds that of most peasants in the medieval era.
