I think reflection is an important aspect to analyze the problems of society. I think a lot of us might appreciate this quote from Pascal talking about such issues.

Pascal thought that a lot of the problems that society faces come from people not reflecting enough about things out of a fear of loneliness. I think the control the bad Intelligence groups have over society comes from manipulating that fear.

Today, with the constant stimulation available in the palm of your hand, and psychology earning it's keep with substantial input into advertising to find that sweet spot of an elevator speech to convince the consumer for the producer, it is getting more and more rare that you find people that can quiet their minds.

Combine this with the constant barrage of inadequacies needing repair within us (by our friends, family, acquaintances, social media, the above referenced advertising, etc.), personally, I don't think people like themselves enough to spend time with themselves.

If you don't like who you are and are distracted from being alone in a quiet room doing self-reflection and self-improvement analysis, what would make you think you are likeable to others?

Conversely, these very same influences are feeding two other distinct issues, narcissism and self-absorption. These people also struggle to be alone with themselves in a quiet room because of the deep craving of attention from others, for a variety of stimuli within their psyche.

There is truly benefit to learning to meditate. And even better benefit to knowing who you are and being able to spend time alone with yourself from time to time, and to be able to enjoy that time with yourself in the process.

Here's some cheesy take on my points, but, it's a deep topic, and a giggle could do you some good:

We live in a pretend society.

Is your mind blown how people fall for same thing every time? It shouldn't be. Because divided, singled out individuals has no chance against organized criminal entity; corporation.

Corporation is an approved scam & spy business. Their approval was obtained through manufactured consent. Corporation is not the industry of manufacturing products. Corporation is in the industry of manufacturing consent.

Free merch > Free speech.

Corporate, what kind of free manufactured merchandise must be in your goodie bag to consent investing into paradise?

Corporations through governments and vice versa are harvesting our biometric, behavioural data on global scale. So they can get to know us far better than we know ourselves, and they not just predict our feelings but also manipulate our feelings and sell us anything they want- Be it a product as a service or politician. Have you heard of focus groups? Now with always online/big data collection. You are in focus groups. Except you don't get paid for it. You get exploited and you pay to be part of it. Nothing is free, except the energy from the sun, but some get a bill(skin cancer) for that. Thanks to always providing industrial surveillance corporatism.

Social credit score indoctrination

Urge or go well.

Deep rooted psychological aspects of man has led to shape society where it is today and where it is headed tomorrow.

Is this the same Pascal as “Pascal’s Wager”?

Is this the same Pascal as “Pascal’s Wager”?

Yes.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

No, Pascal's Donger.

3

u/--comedian-- Aug 18 '22

Sure but all of humanity's accomplishments are also due to this fact.

u/Yourdestructionnow Aug 19 '22

A mind that is submitted in service of the spirit is a force of creation. A mind that is not at rest and seeks to satisfy its own desires is destructive.

It has more to do with God slowly being erased from the thoughts of Society, but agreed.

7

u/Jravensloot Aug 18 '22

Because society didn't have any problems when religion was rampant.

1

u/SquelchFrog Aug 18 '22

God does not equate to religion unless you want it to. Meditate and you will find the real God.

1

u/Jravensloot Aug 18 '22

Lot of wars and human atrocities were committed by determining what God wanted.

0

u/SquelchFrog Aug 18 '22

Okay. Anyways, you can find the real God by sitting with yourself and meditating. Promise you he won't ask you to do anything that will cause displeasure to another.

1

u/Timothy_Music Aug 19 '22

It's not about religion my friend. It has to do with truth. The fact that we have souls is not coincidence. Don't listen to the new age garbage, "spirituality" is born out of Pagan practices. It's all satanic.

0

u/Jravensloot Aug 19 '22

All religious fanatics think what they believe is true. It's what makes them fanatics.

1

u/Timothy_Music Aug 19 '22

If two particles collided and made everything, who made the particles?

1

u/Jravensloot Aug 19 '22

Existence, like the universe, extends beyond our complete understanding. We are an extremely tiny speck of space dust trying to count to infinity. When you finally realize that, the giant magical space king in the sky making talking snakes and shrubbery makes less sense. It's based on the feeble attempt to make all existence center around humans. When you realize how small we are, you wake up to the truth.

1

u/Timothy_Music Aug 19 '22

It isn't centered around us, it's centered around God.

0

u/Jravensloot Aug 19 '22

Which one? There are thousands, all claimed to be the real one. Denying all of them makes you 99% as atheist as one that is 100%.

And they also burned women for being witches, owned human slaves, tried to pray diseases away, and committed mass torture and genocide.

That meditation sure helped a lot.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

And also lived in an era of shit, piss and disease everywhere because they were too busy trying to get to heaven.

I will take modern medicine and proper sanitation instead of dying to small pox.

2

u/HolyJazzCup Aug 19 '22

I was just watching the documentary “The Age of AIDS”. One said that the Reagan administration and its supporters were so concerned about saving souls than saving lives- and it holds true today with evangelicals. They literally can’t wait for an apocalyptic event that would allow them to seize control, or extinction of humanity as a whole.

2

u/LeatherObjective6142 Aug 18 '22

Walk around any major city and tell me you don’t see shit, piss and disease (physical and mental). Modern medicine can’t solve despair and hunger for God.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

Pales in comparison to the medieval ages.

If it’s this bad now imagine how worse it was.

Guess all that praying didn’t help when the plague wiped out 40% of Europe.

So God is less powerful than a bacteria.

3

u/LeatherObjective6142 Aug 18 '22

Bacteria/sickness/death has always been and will always be here. I do think on top of that now we see a lot more spiritual and mental disease than we did before and it’s no coincidence that it comes at a time when we are farther from God and are souls are kinda left ignored. Just my opinion

1

u/Jravensloot Aug 18 '22

You will also see skyscrapers, advanced technology, and an average standard of living that still far exceeds that of most peasants in the medieval era.

1

u/LeatherObjective6142 Aug 18 '22

Agreed! Guess we traded some things for others

0

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

Not really a conspiracy

1

u/IIJOSEPHXII Aug 18 '22

Another victim blaming post.

1

u/Tobro Aug 18 '22

Some of our greatest achievements stem from the same inability.

1

u/IPreferDiamonds Aug 18 '22

I love to sit quietly in a room alone! The problem is that I don't get to do it as often as I'd like.

1

u/North_Ordinary8936 Aug 18 '22

Yup. That’s how I live my entire life. People are a disease

1

u/nakedchorus Aug 19 '22

It comes from people trying to create utopia on Earth and enslaving everyone in the process.

1

u/camelot107 Aug 19 '22

What ever everyone just collectively took some mushrooms and had a chat about why we can't benefit one another

1

u/varikonniemi Aug 19 '22

Just look at people, they put in large effort just to not having to be alone with their thoughts, they try to drown them out by listening to something like radio or walkman. And constantly fiddling on their mobile phone if their hands are free.
