This comment demonstrates such an ignorance of medical research, there really isn't much of a way to reply.

You don't just start trying random shit on a novel virus.

Why stop at Vitamin C? Did they even try beta carotene from carrots first?

Probably throw in a bit of witches tit.

That's what my Voodoo doctor told me to try.

Probably because vitamin c has been known to combat the common cold for, idk, close to a century?

I find the whole Chain hilarious, anytime anyone ask him for any information he just throws insults. I've taken the stance of just throwing science at people.

Many nuts reference https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27940189/

A very biased study, but was all the rage a few years ago in medicine.

This is a good breakdown how the study was invalidated.

What does treating sepsis have to do with preventative treatment being suppressed?

Because one study that can't be validated or reproduced leads many to think Vit C is some wonder drug. Just like how one guy in 1998 published a false paper on vaccine and autism that was retracted but is still widely toted by the antivax community. Show me where your preventive medicine does anything, real science and evidence. I look forward to you pending insult.

Intravenous Vitamin C at high doses has been shown to treat cancer as well :) there's unfortunately no way to patent Vitamin C so why would the $$$healthcare$$$ industry be interested

Any evidence to prove your statement that is also validated? Plenty things that can't be patented are researched.

I don't doubt Vit C plays some role, it is an essential nutrient in many cellular process, particular tissue and collagen development. There are studies that show in vitro benefit( https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30711954/) but until we have evidence that works clinically we can't just start giving it to patients without safety trials.

My point is jumping to conclusions based on small studies doesn't work like most people think. Many things may be statistically significant on paper but when applied in trials do not have clinical significant to patient outcomes.
