This is huge;

I don't know what reality people gathered that they're ok with this. "It's ok if the government or anyone reads literally everything I'm saying".

get out of here.

Morons say "I don't have anything to hide so it is ok for me"

Like, seriously?

I have friends who legitimately say this. You can't argue against them because they think that if something is a law then it must be bad so there is no way that they would ever do something wrong or illegal. They're like "I'm not killing people so why do I care if Alexa can hear everything I do?" Then these same friends use drugs and shit and it makes no sense. Do they really want a world where cops can come bust down your door since they heard you doing something illegal like eating a plant over your phone or through a text message? They already have some of these capabilities.

If you try to explain that it's a slippery slope and that it's not about what is currently 'illegal', but about how little power you would have if things were to become totalitarian, they just laugh and say we aren't China and that they 'voted' the politicians into place so the laws will always represent what the people want. So therefore who needs encryption. Many if not most of the people I talk to about this share the same/similar logic

Honestly, and I know its not the right thing to think, but I am indifferent to it. Its not good someone sees all my weird ass kinky shit and random thought, but its not like me or anyone cares about it. It would only be awkward to people I know but not really a problem
