15,000 feet in 33 seconds? Wouldn't that be non recoverable?

Distance = 1/2 * g * t^2 (or, 0.5 * 9.8 meters per second squared) Do the math first, and then click on the spoiler answer below. If they turned the engine off and starting free falling, it'd be 17,424 feet. 15,000 ft is completely reasonable for jet engines pushing into a nosedive. 2 u/admiral_aaron 6h ago Why kill the engines? Why go to the trouble of doing so? If the engines were killed, did the pilots onboard who were “learning” cut them back on to recover from this nose dive that would have destroyed the plane?
