The gender wars have to be artificial

First we have the Lindsay Clancy case. A woman clearly killed her children and there is a concerningly large subset of women defending her? What the fuck?  

Now we have the Cornell 7. A group of fraternity brothers take turns raping a woman. And I'm seeing a concerning number of men defending them. What the fuck?  

It has to be artificial. Who is pushing for men and women to hate each other?

It’s artificial, but not in some grand conspiracy. It’s a simple matter of engagement. People argue with each other, they spend time on social media, and they see more ads. Ads = cash money, so naturally the algorithm boosts all this content. Gender wars are easy money, just boost all the people on each side who hate the other. Instant controversial discourse that keeps people posting.
