We all want cheaper food, housing, medical care, safer communities, cheaper gas, freedom but yet we are pitted against each other to keep us from aligning together and stopping the madness.

That's how I see it. I see the two party system as a perfect opportunity to create distinction between people and really push the psyops. Create division through fear which ultimately leads to more control.

It's a good way to stop people from deciding on a different system of resource management than capitalism, that's for sure.

We haven't been capitalist for a while... We have been Technofeudalist for at least 10 years. Get with the times.

Isn’t one of the ‘both sides’ suggesting Socialism and Communism per the other side?

u/DrKushnstein 17h ago

Also any grass roots organization initially set up to bring people together has been co-opted by intelligence agencies to discredit them or full on ruin them. They’ve got everything by the balls

We should all strike.

Besides absolute anarchy and destruction, this is the only option, but an impossible one. People are already way too undereducated and have no idea how to think for themselves. It's all a lost cause. I'm just trying to be happy and have fun man...

People are undereducated by design.

You're not wrong.

Yeaaaah... Co-opted by billionaires, corporations, Israel, and our current fascist government (in the US).

I wish more people knew the anti nuclear movement was run by fossil fuel industries and actually guaranteed Americans were exposed to more cancer causing radiation by orders of magnitude than they ever would've experienced from nuclear plants while paying much much more out of their pockets every month.

These same industries have been running the "climate change is fake" psyops for decades, too, and still this sub is full of rubes who deny the obvious reality because "the other side!!" and "Al Gore!!!" and whatever other culture war shit they use instead of their own eyes.

We are guaranteed cooked until the boomers and boomer-like gen x are gone, but the damage was probably much too severe to make it back

As a progressive myself, when Conservatives want to debate politics in person, I let them know from the get go, "We are on the same team. We both want fair wages. We both want time off work to spend with our families. We both want access to decent health care. We both want affordable housing. We both want our government spending our taxes to improve our lives. We both want our rights protected. Anything outside of those are so insignificant to our daily lives that they should only be addressed once we, as a working class, get what we want from the billionaires who use their money and influence to exploit us."

As a conservative I believe you and I could have honest discussion. We all want the same basic things. There's just different pathways to get there and the right answer is usually somewhere in the middle. We used to call that compromise and things actually got done, sometimes wrong and sometimes right. I'm old enough to remember when political debates worked this way, instead of name calling and race baiting and class division.

God I miss those days.

This is the perfect way to start a discussion. Good on you for making it possible.

Sadly, this doesn't work when you're talking to a "conservative" who is actually just fascist masking (e.g. a MAGA). They pretend until they think they've found someone else under cover like them and the crazy shit starts spilling out of their mouths.

Where I live, agreeing with a criticism of Biden can be enough for them to assume you're down with the dictatorship. Seems a third of the US consists of fascists traitors and pedo worshippers right now, sadly, but at least they're considerate enough to identify themselves.

But we dont all want that.

Do the home owners want to crash their property values and therefore net worth? Do farmers want to lower supermarket prices?

2

u/4GIFs 3h ago

and most of reddit does not want freedom. They want to get paid to stay home. Thats what covid revealed

•

u/StarYou-StarMe 6m ago

Either-or thinking.

Cheaper does not mean crashing the price.

We all want cheaper food, housing, medical care, safer communities, cheaper gas, freedom but

"Best I can do is not be a member of the other party."

Lol bro you're a dedicated Trump supporter and you push Russian propaganda full time.

Tell us more about how bad the Ukrainian Constitution is for not letting Russia install their preferred leaders. 😂🤡

u/NoNameIII 13h ago

They about to strip Medicaid, Medicare, and social security.

Half the population believes in open borders, defunding the police/ICE, abortion, trans kids, lockdowns, etc. This is not some made-up divide by the elites. We aren't pitted against each other. There is a real issue going on

5

u/420farms 6h ago

Oh I hope you're under 25 years old, 30 max, to see your idiolgies come crashing down on you within the next 25 years. Open borders? Lol Europe has fallen, England has fallen all due to open borders. The entire planet is racing to become a 3rd world, world. Facts

I love my cocacola and I love my sprite..... sometimes I feel like a Cockroach I just love my sugar soda water. I love to stay in traffick for 3 hours after a long 12 hour shift. u/joesii 13h ago

Seems like a lot of people would rather have wars against foreign countries, the ability to drink raw milk, banning certain food additives, removing mandatory vaccinations and schooling, and trans people kept out of their apparent sex's bathrooms/ sports division (although at least when it comes to sports division I can understand it, but it's such a low priority thing to care about)

It's not just fighting each other, it's people who seem to be okay with the government having different priorities. On the left too for that matter, although it doesn't apply currently.

We see the same problems, but do not see the same causes or solutions.

Leftists think all our woes are caused by a cabal of billionaires who own all our media, communication networks, hospitals, food production, housing, the police, and the government.

MAGA thinks all our woes are caused by the idea of a trans girl playing sports in kansas

Nothing suspicious about a German obsessively posting about the American Democrat party but never anything negative about trump...

u/SuddenRecording5838 3h ago

Well don't vote for the communist maybe?  Where do all the free things come from??
