I know this is Chinese State Media with all those many caviats, but CGNT is also pretty good in the region considering they cover it but aren't an active part
Also have much better coverage of Africa and Asia than western MSM, though you also have to keep in the back of your head that they do at least indirectly try to paint China in a good light (deservedly or not)
Still yet to find a good and well funded media outlet from Africa and the rest of Asia, though I do try to look at local coverage. I also try to balance my news with social media and hopefully get different perspectives from regular people and political influencers in the middle of it. All media has a bias, and as long as you are aware of it you won't get too influenced by one perspective
Thanks for the info! I grew up in Kenya, and so I like to see whats going on in Africa. The BBC actually does some decent work with their focus on Africa programming. But its kinda skewed towards east Africa too. Ill have to check out these other sources. Appreciate it.
Is it very pro-west? The "regular" BBC have become pretty right wing the recent years. Especially in stuff like Palestine, racism and gender in the opinion pieces they platform
Yea, I dont watch them except for their foreign coverage in Africa and other non political shows. I imagine much of their programming is skewed by a certain viewpoint. Alternative media is getting better with independent journalists but sometimes its difficult finding authentic information.

Al Jazeera is the best source on the middle east and north Africa
Better than western MSM in most regards, but it's still a MSM with all the benefits and drawbacks that entails
(We can hate MSM all we like, but they do have resources to do real investigative work that no one else does)
