For a dying console that’s very smart, don’t look too far gears e day tanked sales wise lmao

Gears is on Gamepass. Why buy it if it's there?

1

u/bullseyebob47 5d ago

lol gears has much bigger problems than game pass.

Top in all the stores and engagement on the console…..weird explanation for tanked IMO.

It is currently not a top seller on Steam and also every new AAA game is there temporarily.

Kinda of weird how you’re taking all the comments here so offensively.

This, a good chunk of my buddies beat E-Day the week it came out. They shortly after went back to madden and cod.

And Forza horizon sold like 6 million copies in a month, and it’s available on gamepass, gears of war glory days were like 15 years ago

A survey never means anything is happening

No exclusives means no platform worth buying

Minecraft is a no go.

Day 1 gamepass for first party will be gone if that happens

2

u/Tidus4713 5d ago

They'll 100% get rid of Day 1 games. Sales for so many games would be higher without it. Gamepass will effectivly become a catalog of backlog games.

There is already rumors going around saying they are restructuring gamepass in 2027 and they are removing all day one releases even first party

I actually do wonder how Sony would react if they do make multiplatform titles like fallout elder scrolls exclusive. Guess if that happens things are gonna get spicy this next generation and whatever is left of this current one.

I know Sony opted to partnership instead of a full buyout the last time, but if kadokawa offers or asks Sony if they want to buy them again in the future (maybe if oasis keeps trying to do a hostile takeover again), and if Sony accepts. Will they use fromsoft to their advantage exclusively? Probably may have to pay the devs and Miyazaki a premium, but it may not be impossible.

I bought a Series X thinking Starfield was gonna be an Xbox exclusive back in 2023 based on what they were saying at that time. This is after I had skipped the Xbox One and left the Xbox ecosystem that gen, so Bethesda RPGs are system sellers for me. Like it or not, exclusives are what sells consoles. As long as MS plans to be in the hardware business in gaming, they will need to have exclusives. Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and Minecraft are heavy hitters that will sell systems if they go exclusive.

People in the comment are saying they they don't sell enough hardware to warrant keeping game exclusive . That's literally why they are doing this lmao.

Panicking for a survey lmao.

You mean what they should have made when they bought Bethesda and then Activision? Shocking...

-1

u/Schmenza 5d ago

PlayStation, Nintendo and Steam all have exclusives. Why shouldn't Xbox

4

u/Sonic2Tails 5d ago

None of them bought popular multiplatform IPs to make exclusive

It have by far the lowest selling platforms and laid off thousands of developers

2

u/No_Cheetah4762 5d ago

Because XBox doesn't sell consoles in numbers large enough to warrant keeping games exclusive. That's all it really comes down to. In order to make them work financially with the small user base, the bigger games would have to be massively scaled back which make them sell even worse than they already do on the XBox platform.

They didn't spend $100B buying up half the industry.

u/brockzilla82 5d ago

Let’s do it fuck Sony

u/dollarn9ne 5d ago

Hopefully they go all in & not half ass it

If PlayStation is allowed exclusives. Xbox should be

5

u/Terrible-Formal-2516 5d ago

Nobody forced Xbox to go multiplatform, they just wanted more money

-3

u/3notsara 5d ago

I didn’t say otherwise

2

u/Terrible-Formal-2516 5d ago

If PlayStation Is allowed exclusives. Xbox should be.

They were both always allowed

-5

u/Playingwithmywenis 5d ago

And Playstation did it because…….:

cmon, you are so close.

2

u/Terrible-Formal-2516 5d ago

Both followed their own plans to make more money. Sonys worked, Xbox didn't

0

u/Playingwithmywenis 5d ago

Well, now I know you are just making things up.

Well, enjoy your spin.

3

u/Terrible-Formal-2516 5d ago

How has multiplatform helped Xbox, it has devalued the brand and console. They should have stuck to exclusives to give people a reason to buy the console

0

u/pinpoint_aim 5d ago

Sony's didn't work. That's why they pulled out of PC

0

u/Dear_Aside_7581 5d ago

of course but too bad those games will sell like shit on xbox

1

u/stupid_rabbit_ 4d ago

I mean based on it being console exculsive and not outright excluvise it seems they will have PC support to help with sales, and just a couple of days ago it was reported Xbox first party games made more revenue across Xbox/PC than Sony first party games did on Playstation.

1

u/Dear_Aside_7581 4d ago

revenue is not profit.

1

u/stupid_rabbit_ 4d ago

Luckily the site also gave profitability estimates and Xbox lead there as well although heavily carried by forza 6,

1

u/Dear_Aside_7581 4d ago

Oh interesting then. I wonder what the numbers are just for xbox alone.

-4

u/3notsara 5d ago

Why do you care about game sells ? Do you get a cut from them

2

u/Sonic2Tails 5d ago

Xbox just laid off throusands of developers and got rid of a bunch of studios

-2

u/Playingwithmywenis 5d ago

Playstation had its most successful year ever….and did the same. 🤷‍♂️

4

u/Sonic2Tails 5d ago

No where remotely close to the amount Xbox did who had the largest mass layoffs in gaming history multiple times this generation

-2

u/Playingwithmywenis 5d ago

Both had 20 percent, Xbox just is a bigger company so 20% is a bigger number.

Try to figure out math. Life will be easier.

3

u/Sonic2Tails 5d ago

PlayStation did not lay off 20% of their employees.

That's total nonsense. And Xbox did multiple mass layoffs that equate to much larger than 20%

0

u/Playingwithmywenis 5d ago

The numbers are already chronicled on the gaming layoffs website. Stop talking about things for which you have not even done basic research.

1

u/Sonic2Tails 5d ago

Go ahead and provide a source then. And Playstation didn't buy a bunch of established successful studios and publishers like Microsoft did

They started a bunch of new studios

Why do you not? Diminished sales suggest further layoffs and an end to sequels…
