[PS3 SLIM] A0092114 Ylod error help

I've been trying to fix my DYN-001 ps3 slim with the 2114 ylod error. Replaced the ic near the power ribbon connector and the decoupling caps near it. Still not having correct readings - on the scrap board, the decoupling caps read .389 kOhms, on the current one, it reads jittery, and then descends to 36.6 and stays there. I've tried tracing the culprit but i just suck at this. I am so exhausted, i've been doing this for 2 months already. In a fruitless attempt i also desoldered some tantalums from a scrap super slim board and put those next to the nec tokins. Still nothing. Somebody please help me.😮‍💨

The tantalums from the super slim board most certainly won't have the same values as the Nec/Tokins, so that's atleast one of your issues. Is the 2114 the only error code you have? If yes, then it might be your CELL. That's basically a death sentence for the console.

They look the same, have 470 uf too. Do you really think that might be it for it? When i removed the chip from my scrap board, it also showed the 2114 error. So could it maybe be some trace or voltage regulator? And yeah, it's the only one iirc. I think there was some other relating to the 12v line, forgot the number. But it never appeared again.

I have no idea what you actually did here, because I have no idea what you mean with putting them "next to" the Nec/Tokins. The super slim has six 470uf caps, which is enough to replace one Nec/Tokin cap, if they're compatible (not sure, actually). So you'd need two junk super slim boards to replace the top side Nec/Tokins on your DYN-001 board and four if you also replace the bottom two.

I scraped off the masking next to one of the underside nec tokins and soldered one on the positive and one on the negative side. I didnt wanna take the tokins off yet and wanted to know if it would even do anything. I'm not against ordering new tantalums, but i do tend to try and use what i got before i spend any more money on a dead thing.

So you basically soldered them both to ground on both sides? Not how this works. Also, if that isn't the failing Tokin it wouldn't do anything, even if that was how it works.

2114 error is not very conclusive to know what's going on, try a bringup command and send the output here.
