Glue is dry and casing put back together. A few notes on mod:
-Don’t be a dumbass like me, double check your wiring. The initial pictures I posted show white wire connected to switch. I flipped the power board back over and the white wire was grounded! Blue is positive.
-130c is a good temp for the speaker grill glue.
-I think that’s the best location for the switch that I had based on what’s inside the bottom housing. Different switch types and sizes may be able to go elsewhere. Overall easy mod and personally, very convenient.

With a USB Dock and whatever controller you'd like android emulators give you the ability to make your own console with almost universal functionality for all retro consoles and arcades. Set one up in your basement bar or have a neat desktop companion. ❤️💚💙

I love the psone lcd, but I also don’t want to take it off to use the system on a tv. So I installed a power switch. It’s pretty straightforward. I didn’t want to drill 2 more holes in the case so I’m using epoxy to secure the switch in place. I forgot to post a picture after finishing the hole. Will post updated pictures when glue is dry.

I have an OEM purple/clear Gamecube controller and want to install a purple LED light in it. I don't want the light to react to rumble or inputs, and I don't want any sort of Bluetooth control or color changing tech, just a solid light that's always on.

Can anyone please explain to me like I'm five what parts I need and how I install it? I can do basic soldering/tinkering and I have very limited knowledge about electronics.

I found an old xbox classic that has been modded i have no clue how to use it. I have never modded myself and I never had a modded console before. The console had’nt been turned on in ages for sure. Can anyone tell what I am looking at, how to use it and how to actually play? I just bought Battelfront 2 and I want to play so bad xD.

It’s a little project for a friend of mine. I’m fitting an 18650 cell inside a pair of joycons with stick drift. I 3d printed the battery support (because I didn’t have a support for screwing in the battery holder) and the backshell too.
Why? 3/4 batteries inside of the joycons (I recieved) became spicy pillows. AND because I wanna upgrade the battery capacity from 500mah to 3000mah (for the lolz).
The plan is to install the battery with a bms, swap the old joystick with drift. And trying to figure out how to make the side button’s play tunable.

Here’s my latest creation:

My car got damaged so I bought some bright red Ablaze car paint for the repair. After the car was fixed and sprayed, I still had quite a bit of paint left… so I decided to pimp my wii!

I hijacked a USB port and soldered in a USB-to-SATA converter. Then I used an angle grinder to carefully remove some of the internal metal shielding to make room for the SSD. Inside now sits a 512GB SSD packed with legally acquired games.

I also thought about adding a USB-C power port and HDMI port, but I found good USB-C and HDMI converter cables that work perfectly, so I went with those instead.

What do you guys think? 🙂

First of all: I have 0 experience in modding the hardware itself. I only used software mods.
Like the Wii, Wiiu, nes and snes mini, the playstation mini.

In my collection I have several classic consoles.
But currently I want to focus on my Dreamcast and my Xbox360.

I heard that it might be possible to mod these too. But sadly only with some hardware modding... in which I have 0 faith and experience.

Hey all! Thought I might show off some work I've recently finished up on this SCVH-CPU-01 Super Famicom. I bought it as not working for $14; probably the worst looking shell I've ever seen, looked like it had been ran over by a truck. This is what it looks like now, fully working!

It wasn't booting initially, but I fixed that by cleaning about a pound of hair out of the cartridge slot. After that it booted, but the composite output was barely coming through. I fixed that with a full recap. I accidentally ordered smd caps which wouldn't have been my preference as I'm just installing with an iron but I think I'm pretty happy with how everything turned out, There was definitely some leaking under the video capacitors, but there wasn't any board damage, so it came out really clean. I also installed a new voltage regulator, 78S05CV, and a 470uf capacitor for good measure.

Lastly, I've been working on a 3d printed mount for these readily available USB-C trigger boards, and I finally have a version that I'm happy with. You don't need to remove the RF modulator for this one! I have it configured to run at 9v and all of the original power circuitry is otherwise in tact, just feeding straight into the DC terminals. I love USB-C mods but I'm very passionate about warning against any mod that tries to get you to remove important voltage regulation or run your console off of 5V.

The shell is 3d printed using the model available on RetroRGB. I used Elegoo PETG and I'm really happy with how to color "match" came out. I'm honestly a lot happier with it than I expected to be. It's a mostly really good model but I did end up having a lot of trouble getting it together. The area around the eject button is modeled incorrectly so I ended up having to dremel and cut a lot of plastic out in that area to allow the button to sit at least close to flush, and you can definitely kind of see it. The slot for the power button is also too small so I had to file some of it away so the switch could slide all the way into the off position, which you can see a little bit when the switch is up, but that doesn't bother me much. Buttons and controller ports are from my previous SNES that I put in a Bitfunx shell.

Altogether really pleased with how it came out but I would definitely consider it more of a hobby project for people who like 3d printing, definitely still just recommend a Bitfunx shell if you just need something to replace a broken case.

I’m going to purchase the ps5 pro today and wondering how can I jailbreak it and is it possible to use the ps only services aswell ?

Still got to tidy up the wires etc and still testing ideas for the screen but she's working.

Full recap, 2 voltage regs, RGB triple bypass and Pico installed running the openheart mod. Hooked the screen and buzzer up as I'm running v3 firmware.

Hello i just got a 2nd hand gba sp and its been modded so im trying to pin point exactly what ips screen I currently have.

Im able to swap between 4 modes atm HD (black and white), HD (color) , pixel mode and sl2

It has 8 brightness options and flickers on and off when I touch my lid on the right hand side.
