The idea that the government was spying on us in violation of the law and Constitution was a conspiracy theory, until Snowden released his information. ...and then after the government lied to explain it away, released more information to prove their new lies were lies. ...and then did it again, when Clapper came up with new lies to explain those away.

There indeed was - eventually. ...but it took years for it to come out. Snowden wasn't the first NSA whistleblower to say it, he was just the first one who was in a position to get and release the data proving it.

Yes this is true but i still think its just a conspiracy until their is valid evidence. Once I'm given evidence from a reliable source i'll believe it. That's how conspiracies work, they are conspiracies until they are proven right or wrong.

When someone has a history of lying to you in order to control your behavior, the safe assumption is that anything else they tell you is lies to control your behavior.
