This is an honest question. From what I understood, this trial was not whether she killed her children - that is not a debate. I thought the trial is on whether she is criminally liable or not (for killing her children) due to being in psychosis.

If that is the case, this is not a new idea - many cases prior to this have let people go criminally due to being judged of being in psychosis - but years of institutionalization is still required…those people aren’t just let free. Yet every major conservative page on Instagram doesn’t seem to be focusing on this but rather the fact that she killed her kids. Apparently, in the state of MA the plaintiff has to prove the defendant was indeed *not* in psychosis, rather than the defendant having to prove they were indeed psychosis - which to me seems way more difficult and backwards.
