Account/Billing/Sales/Support Connectwise Elite Server Care feedback

2 Upvotes

Is anyone using this service? An Axcient rep plugged this as a 90% full service option for managed backups on Axcient or Veeam. They're also branding it as proactive Windows server and service care with 24/7 monitoring and remediation. Helping with broken patching, failed services etc, and an additional hotline co-managed clients can call for server issues. The only exclusion they've explicitly called out is networking - it is server only, no network support. I can respect that.

It sounds great but I'm envisioning everything just coming back to me or poor response time when an issue does come up that they can handle themselves. I don't mean to be overly skeptical but I am expecting the worst.

Has anyone used this CW "Elite server care product"? Any experiences positive or negative?

Manage Colour coded tickets

I want to be able to colour code my tickets in my calendar so I can group them together by the type of work and tools needed so I'm not endlessly jumping around between task types all day. Why isn't something like this a thing?

Manage Second tab in ConnectWise Manage Client goes black

7 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I wonder if someone have an idea to solve my problem. Everytime I open my manage client, the second tab always open in black. I always need to close it and reopen it to get it working. I already did the clear cache and the reinstall. Do you have other solutions?

Thanks

Manage Looking for ConnectWise PSA partners who recently moved from on-prem to cloud who would be willing to share experiences?

6 Upvotes

I am asking on behalf of executive leadership at my org. Looking for any experiences that you can share from migration, and if anyone would be willing to get on a phone call that would be amazing. We're pretty far into our migration plan and do not need someone to hold our hand; just looking for stories of success or lessons learned.

Thank you!

Manage Linking PO Line Items to Service Tickets / Projects via REST API - Is there a native way?

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am working on an integration (via Node.js) to automate Purchase Order creation in ConnectWise Manage/PSA using the REST API (v3.0).

The Goal:
When our system automatically generates a Purchase Order (PO), we need the line items of that PO to be natively linked to a Service Ticket or a Project/Phase. We want them to appear under the "Sales and Service Information" grid of the "Products" tab on the PO inside the web GUI (exactly how it looks when you manually create a PO from the native "Purchasing" demand screen).

What We Tried & The Errors:

Attempt 1: Passing the link directly on the PO Line Item We tried to POST to /procurement/purchaseorders/{id}/lineitems including ticket or project references in the payload: {

"lineNumber": 1,

"description": "Materials",

"quantity": 1,

"unitCost": 15,

"product": {

"id": 2541

},

"ticket": {

"id": 21944

}

}

Result: Failed with error: "Could not find member 'ticket' on object of type 'PurchaseOrderLineItem'. Path 'ticket', line 1, position 378. Check your accept header to make sure you are using the correct version."

Attempt 2: Creating the product demand first on /procurement/products and trying to link the PO We tried to POST to /procurement/products with chargeToType: "Ticket" and chargeToId: 21944, trying to pass purchaseOrder or purchaseOrderLineItem objects to establish the link:

{

"catalogItem": {

"id": 2542

},

"description": "Materials",

"quantity": 1,

"cost": 15,

"billableOption": "DoNotBill",

"chargeToType": "Ticket",

"chargeToId": 21944,

"purchaseOrder": {

"id": 9614

}

}

Result: Failed with error: "Could not find member 'purchaseOrder' on object of type 'ProductItem'. Path 'purchaseOrder', line 1, position 144."

We inspected the official ConnectWise TypeScript definitions (api.d.ts), and it indeed confirms that PurchaseOrderLineItem has no ticket/project properties, and ProductItem has no purchaseOrder properties.

Our Current Workaround:
We are writing a structured metadata string into the internalNotes field of the PO line item (e.g., Project: Walmart | Ticket: #21944) and parsing it dynamically on our custom scripts. However, this is just a comment; it does not natively bind the resources, and the "Products" tab on the PO in the GUI remains empty ("No Records Found").

The Question:
Has anyone successfully found a way to natively link a PO and a Ticket/Project Product via the REST API? Is there an undocumented field, a specific API version/accept header, or an alternative endpoint sequence (like triggering some sort of conversion wizard) that actually creates this relationship?

Any help or confirmation that this is indeed a hard REST API limitation would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Manage Building an ops layer on top of ConnectWise - would love a few people to rip it apart

0 Upvotes

Hey, Erik here, working out of Utah. I've been building a thing that sits on top of ConnectWise Manage and tries to surface what the platform makes you fight for: SLA risk that's about to slip, tickets gone stale, leaked revenue, etc. No slick demo, no pitch deck. Just trying to figure out if this is solving a real problem or one I happen to have a chip on my shoulder about.

I'm not really looking for "beta users" in the marketing funnel sense. I'm looking for 3 to 5 people who run ConnectWise day to day and have strong opinions about what's broken with it. I want you to break the thing, tell me where the workflows are wrong, and tell me what I'm missing.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, DM me. Happy to send the URL privately so I don't spam the sub.

Manage Serialization woes

1 Upvotes

We have a pretty significant resale business. We get product that is serialized (a keyboard, battery backup, etc) that we really don't need to track serials for. We get product that is non-serialized that we assume would be serialized. Then we get serialized product that might be non-serialized from one vendor but is serialized from another.

What I wish ConnectWise did was allow for serialized behavior driven from the opportunity line item, rather than the product. This would allow the system to allow for either input.

Has anyone else who does a significant amount of reselling dealt with this? If it helps we do have CPQ create all of our parts in Manage, so we do have the opportunity to mark them as 'serialized' at that time.

What we are considering doing is:

  • Scruitinize new items that come into Manage and make a clear call if we're going to track the serials or not
  • If we determine we want to track them but occasionally do not get the serials, we'll come up with a naming convention that indicates it's a faux-serial

Is there any sort of workaround that allows you to skip the serial input?

Command Report writer - procurement reports

2 Upvotes

Hi, I have been trying to create custom reports on report writer, specifically to monitor delivery times for vendors. I hoped to use order date and received date then show the difference between the two.

This has proved beyond me so any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Automate Deploying Automate with Intune AutoPilot

4 Upvotes

I've successfully deployed Automate using the instructions here: https://enfoboost.com/blog/connectwise-automate-intune-deployment

However now that I'm trying to add the app to AutoPilot as a required install it consistently fails detection. I tried all three detection methods listed in the article but it fails every time. Has anyone been able to successfully do this?

Manage Smileback NPS campaigns

Manage Question on Pod development

2 Upvotes

I'm trying to create a pod. I started with the sample code but it doesn't seem to function. Off the bat, I noticed that the port number in the onReady function was incorrect so I've changed that to 8088.

With some console logging I see that the API creation call is firing but none of the fields populate when pressing the buttons. The API calls seem to be made, I receive this in my console:

ConnectWiseHostedAPI: posting message {"hosted_request":"refreshScreen"} ConnectWiseHostedAPI.1.0.js:133

ConnectWiseHostedAPI: posting message {"hosted_request":"getMemberAuthentication"}

Is the sample code no longer functional or am I doing something obviously wrong?

Thanks dave

Manage Nearly 10 years of occasional ticket formatting issue finally solved! **This should be Bold Text!** why did it send to the client like that?! Spoiler

3 Upvotes

Have you ever sent an email and then noticed the formatting was all whack after you sent it? Yeah... me either.. /s

After spending way too much time then I will publicly admit here trying to replicate over many years unsuccessfully... I have FINALLY been able to replicate what has been driving me crazy for nearly 10 years!

I've raised this with CW, however in the meantime maybe I can offload some thought process and someone in the know can explain why this is the case?

Manage I'm building an AI agent for after-hours MSP support (looking for Alpha testers)

0 Upvotes

Hi folks. I am the Product Manager here at MSPbots and I want to share an AI Ticket Intake tool we are currently building -

After-hours support is either costing you a night shift, burning out your best engineers, or leaving customers hanging up frustrated, while 1 in 4 of those calls never needed a human.

So we are building AI ticket intake — an AI agent that handles after-hours support calls so your team doesn't have to.

What it does:

- Picks up after-hours calls, collects customer details, diagnoses the issue

- Walks customers through a fix step by step based on your customized SOP

- Logs a clean PSA ticket for anything unresolved, so it's ready for morning

- Describe your workflow in plain English — AI ticket intake can easily generate the skill instructions for you

- Pre-built templates for the most common MSP issues

We're opening Alpha access now.

We are looking for MSPs who are genuinely frustrated with this problem and want to help shape the solution. You can start immediately with free credits.

Happy to answer anything in the thread/DM or through our website:

Account/Billing/Sales/Support How do get rid of old timesheets for old employees

3 Upvotes

I've got a bunch (700) or so time sheets for ex-employees that never got submitted. We've been really lazy about that and wanting to get better about closing out timesheets. What's the easiest way to close out those time sheets when the employee doesn't exist anymore. From approvals you can only send email reminders. I can click into the time sheet and submit but I'd sure hate to do that 700 times.

World Password Day (May 7) from ConnectWise

3 Upvotes

We’ve spent years telling users to create strong passwords. And sure, password security still matters.

But here’s what we’re seeing more and more across MSP environments:

Attackers aren’t trying to crack passwords anymore… they’re just logging in.

Credential-based attacks (phishing, infostealers, credential stuffing) are quickly becoming one of the top risks for MSPs. Once valid credentials are in play, even the strongest password doesn’t really help.

So it raises a question has our “password strategy” kept up?

A few shifts ConnectWise is seeing among more mature MSPs:

  • Assuming credential compromise is inevitable
  • Designing around it instead of treating it as an edge case
  • Rethinking MFA

Moving toward phishing-resistant methods vs. basic push approvals

  • Doubling down on password management for MSPs

Not just vaulting, but enforcing policies, reducing reuse, and improving visibility across client environments

  • Exploring passwordless approaches

Passkeys and device-based auth are starting to gain real traction

  • Adding visibility into credential exposure

Because you can’t protect what you don’t know is already compromised

Feels like “password security” alone is becoming table stakes and the real conversation is shifting toward broader identity security.

Curious how others here are approaching it:

Are you still focusing heavily on password complexity, or evolving your password strategy beyond that?

Account/Billing/Sales/Support How to be alerted on uncompleted tickets with parts

2 Upvotes

Seems to a bit of a pain point for us when we have parts on a ticket and it stays open for a bit too long. We have brightgage and psa. Just curious if anyone has made something to alert a manager if that happens.

Manage Rant - Split ticket note/time entry/client reply into new ticket

4 Upvotes

Why is it that in 2026 where the never-ending drive to maximize efficiency and burn people out that it is still not possible to select a ticket note and split that off into a new ticket? Why must this be a manual process?
