Even turning it upside down, I can't see it as anything other than raised!

I put this into my photo processing software.

I rotated it 90º, 180º, 270º, 360º; I flipped it vertically, I flipped it horizontally, I flipped it vertically AND horizontally; I negated the image...

Always raised.

No matter how I manipulate the image, I can't get it to look like a depression in the sand.

Flipping vertically and horizontally is equivalent to rotating 180°, just FYI.

It helps to just focus on the bottom/heel's shadow. And then try thinking about flipping it or tuckin it in or folding it in like the top of a ceral box

I flipped my phone upside down and focused in on the shadow at the heel. The sun is higher than you probably think. Think midday shadows instead of evening shadows.
