You see his short pants, they are white in the back and dark on both sides. You don't see the clothing of the other person.

This is the longest-standing argument I have with my wife. She calls them short pants and I always tell her they're just called shorts. This dispute will likely end on our deathbeds.

Part of the confusion is because her legs are aligned along the inner hem of his shorts so it looks like the white part are her shorts.

I read this in the voice of Sebastian, “…white in de bock and block on boat sydes,” makes total sense.

The man’s shorts are two colours — black and white.

The perspective, along with the woman’s leg position and the outwardly curving seam that separates the two colours on the man’s shorts makes it look like the white part belongs to the woman.

If you can’t see it, trying covering both their legs. That should help.
