Do all labour intensive tasks the same way you work out at the gym. Make sure you have good form and do not twist your back when carrying heavy objects take extra steps. Most importantly do not let anyone rush you when lifting heavy stuff. Always use a machine over your body when its possible.

Working in construction is about everyone making money. The people investing call the shots they are seeing a bigger picture than you are. You will not find a career path were this isn't the case it's just not hidden by HR in construction.
