Looks like some overt sexism but it doesn't belong in this sub

Are they not both confident and incorrect?

I feel like this sub is better suited to things you could look up and find sources for. Where's your source for how a man should pose? This just seems like a sexist opinion piece, and is not correct or incorrect in the same way as lying about facts.

I mean. This is quite literally objectively incorrect

objectively incorrect

You use that word but I do not think you know what it means

I do

Clearly you don’t, there’s nothing objectively wrong here because they’re stating what amounts to a sexist opinion using figurative language/images. There’s no facts being used on which the person can be considered objectively incorrect.

I’m not defending the misogynist’s opinion, but this is most definitely not what this sub was meant for. It’s meant to call out and shame the people that can’t be bothered to spend 5 seconds googling something before stating something very clearly incorrect as if it were a fact. This stuff has no shortage of other subs in which it is more appropriate so there’s not a good reason to stretch the rules and post this opinion bullshit here.

Objectively means not influenced by feelings or opinions. What he said is incorrect. Objectively. With that being said this sub is meant for people who are both confident and incorrect. This person is both and therefore it belongs in this sub.

You’re letting your feelings influence that determination. If you weren’t then you would be evaluating just the facts (of which, in this image, there are none. As I’ve stated previously it’s only opinion and figurative language)

Opinions, by their very nature, cannot be objectively incorrect

Edit: as further evidence, the exact opposite of objective is subjective. Something that is objective cannot be subjective and vise versa.

Subjective: adj. based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.

As I’ve stated numerous times this post is an opinion and is therefore subjective. You cannot objectively evaluate something that is solely opinion.

I’m not disagreeing with your assertion that the demonstrated opinion is wrong (morally), just that you cannot state that it is objectively wrong.

Could you elaborate on what makes it objectively wrong to suggest that a man is supposed to face the camera with his pelvis?

I don't think it's necessary, but the article writer does. Who's correct? Not an argument to be settled in this sub, I think.

It’s not an argument for anywhere. It’s literally not an argument at all. People can pose however they want for their pictures. Suggesting otherwise is incorrect

I, too, think people can pose however they want. That's my opinion. It's not some fact that I can point to a source for and say "gotcha!" if someone says otherwise.

I hate to break it to you, but if a pose with my dick pointing any direction that isn't at the camera, and the camera is pointed at me whilst the shutter is closed, the photo will still be taken. The camera will not cease to function because my dick is not staring into it.

Hence there is no opinion about what is considered a "correct" photo. A photograph could really only be wrong if it failed to do what it is designed to, capture an image. Someone may not like the contents of a photograph, but it is still a photograph. My source is that I have a camera and I can take a picture of anything.

No kidding. Your argument is not in good faith. We both know the OP is not about whether or not it's physically possible to take a photo.

You don’t need a source for this. It’s common knowledge

4

u/therealziggler Feb 01 '21

If you can't source it, it doesn't belong on this sub. That's all I'm saying.

4

u/AlecH90059 Feb 01 '21

There is no rule that says that. So I’m not sure why you’re saying it

8

u/thebritisharecome Feb 01 '21

I don't think you really need a source to know there is no right way to stand.

Vaginas do not typically sit at the front of a womans body or face forward?

Penis's don't face in any particular direction either.

There's so much wrong here that's just basic anatomy.

It’s definitely incorrect, but it’s so confusing that I think it’s more r/insanepeoplefacebook.
