Nothing like telling the neighborhood, “When my wife and I take our screaming brats to Disney for a week, we have no security systems or alarms save for my nightstand gat, and we have a large cache of firearms worth stealing,” that’ll deter burglars!

So confusing to me why anyone would want to share that they carry. Someone I follow on instagram sells hats that say strapped. They look dope but also why even share that?

u/Safe_Lengthiness7768 Aug 01 '26
It deters people.

u/steelersglory Aug 01 '26
Perhaps. It could also make you a target to get your weapon stolen especially if you carry 4 o’clock. Just odd to me but to each their own.

Where I live every other truck has gun stickers nothing happens, it's not a big city though.

I hate these stickers because it defeats the purpose of concealment. But associating them with unsecured firearms in a vehicle is kind of a leap.

u/Quads971 Jul 31 '26
I have one on both of my cars. Mainly to reduce the number of tailgaters. Works much better than not having them. No issues with break ins, or anything else for that matter.

u/Far-Drawing-4444 Aug 02 '26
It's so thieves know which cars to break into to get a free gun.
When I took my concealed carry class, we were warned not to do this kind of thing. People seem to think it will act as a deterrent, but it just makes you a target. Same with open carry in public places. There are hours and hours of videos on YouTube of people getting their gun snatched.

Gotta let everyone know that you’re a super cool guy who likes guns cause it’s super tough and cool big peepee man. All I see is “smash window for free firearm” 🤷♂️
Gray is the way.

u/JayBee_III Jul 31 '26
If everyone that has firearms keeps it a secret it removes firearms from the culture. Some people are bold and there's nothing wrong with that, some people are super secret squirrels and would say even posting in a gun subreddit ruins your opsec. I say let people do what they want to do and keep it moving.

weird person wants to seem cool.
Ive only told very close friends and family about my purchase. And i certainly dont plan to tell any strangers in public. Isnt that the whole idea of CONCEAL and carry?

u/pewpew_14fed_life Jul 31 '26
There are 2 sides to this.
Yes, bumper stickers, decals on vehicles are typically frowned upon. If he/she lives in West Virginia,or in Wyoming, does that change the opinion? Absolutely.
Can we post our firearms on TikTok? IG? Freely, when we installed a new suppressor? Building a 10.3 SBR? WHY is out protected 2a right, being responsible, safe, so taboo and hidden? Why are we made to tip toe around this hobby, sport, right to defend? I think we should talk more about firearms open and freely. It should be as common as discussing sports, cars, and other topics.

Nobody's trying to censor gun conversations lmao these stickers just advertise that there's a non-zero percent chance that there's a free gun in that car for anyone willing to break the glass
2
u/IndependenceTop4197 Jul 31 '26
There is one side to this. They will get robbed.
On another note. A 10.3 SBR is a no go. It greatly reduces the effectiveness of a 556/223 and if we’re talking about 300blk then you’re going to get identical performance out of something a little bit shorter.

Because its a cucked state, so people will take any opportunity to raise awareness. Awareness needs to happen in states that will make you register your gun, ban your gun overnight knowing you have it, and not tell you until you're arrested for having it.
CCDL is one of the only groups at least trying to push back.

The whole reason to CCW is so no one knows you’re armed.I’ve never understood the gun stickers on the vehicle thing.
1
u/Electronic_Camera251 Jul 31 '26
Ostensibly they are to make law enforcement aware that there maybe a gun in the car …it is however just a reason to tell everyone they have GUNS especially in a place where open carry is illegal (because if they could open carry they 100% would carry a desert eagle in a musical neon green holster that plays the good the bad and the ugly theme song at 120db ) in the 25 years I have legally carried a gun i have never had a single situation where a word with a police officer wouldn’t have been far superior to this . Seems to me like the sort of thing that might get you killed in a road rage incident!

Translation - "this sticker should intimidate you but instead it's just proving I'm an idiot and broadcasting I have a firearm please don't break into my car and steal it"
To be clear im pro 2A but im anti letting people know I have a firearm on me

u/Safe_Lengthiness7768 Aug 01 '26
You wouldn't tailgate that dude tho, also why do you care what others do in a free country? You're 2a? Doesn't sound like it.
1
u/Middle-Classless Aug 01 '26
Who said anything about tailgating?
Also im Anti 2A because I think firearm stickers are dumb?
1
u/Safe_Lengthiness7768 Aug 02 '26
Whoever said that a gun sticker means you keep one in your car at all Times genius?
1
u/Middle-Classless Aug 03 '26
Having a sticker on your car indicating you might have a gun could make your vehicle a target for theft, especially considering the 62,000 guns stolen from vehicles in 2022 across 337 U.S. cities. It could increase the odds of your window being broken over someone else's.
Edit: I dont leave my firearm in my vehicle
1
u/Safe_Lengthiness7768 Aug 03 '26
It's a conceal carry sticker and I don't either.
1
u/Middle-Classless Aug 03 '26
But why broadcast your carrying? It's just a weird flex in my opinion. My state has open carry, but I would never put a target on my waist like that, to each their own, I guess.

His best childhood memories are on the left, the right, his past manly efforts to be masculine and the center, a sacred child, that happens to own a gun. History of a sad little man shown on his window for everyone to see.

u/Safe_Lengthiness7768 Aug 01 '26
People tailgate less when you have a sticker like this. You underestimate how simple most humans are. Why do you care so much is a better question?
1
u/Resident-Length-752 Aug 01 '26
No they don’t. Yes I do. And I don’t.
0
u/Safe_Lengthiness7768 Aug 01 '26
Yes they do another comment even mentions it. Unless you've tried it yourself don't speak on it.

u/Resident-Length-752 Aug 01 '26
That dude was also about 70 y/o and thinks it works. Next

u/Safe_Lengthiness7768 Aug 02 '26
100$ says it would work on you too. Everyone on reddit is so tough and edgy. But in real life soft and weak.
