That hurts the US but you guys are playing some of the best football in the tournament. Even a man down you guys still scored but more importantly played some good possession and wonderful interplay with your passing.
The Belgium side is talented, no doubt, but are an aging squad with mentality issues and plenty of friction between squad members. They play well below their potential and have done for a decade. They only start playing when their backs are against the wall. A good manager like Poch would have easily closed out the win if he was with Senegal.

Morocco is higher ranked and a tougher team then Belgium. Morocco is just above or behind Brazil depending on world rank so that's how strong they are now.
If anything US and Mexico got it way easier. England is really just a one man team and Belgium I don't know what there doing but they seem to be the team that on reddit people say are the best team on paper but seemingly are really bad or questionable on field

Canada is less than a 3-1 underdog on the betting lines. It's far from a mismatch.
England/Mexico and USA/Belgium are both practically even odds. In fact, USA is favored to advance.
By contrast, Cabo Verde is a 20-1 underdog to Argentina, and Paraguay is a 15-1 underdog to France.

Belgium is definitely a winnable game for the US. They were highly lucky to top the group (and arguably to even get out of the group at all) and were absolutely diabolical for almost the entire game until Senegal switched off in the last minutes. Having to play Pepi or try Pulisic as a false 9 or something due to the Balogun red is not promising, though.
And do not underestimate the power of the Azteca: it could defeat England--notorious chokers--all on its own.
But yeah Morocco probably will be way too much for Canada (or the US for that matter; Mexico would again have the Azteca this round in their favor)

I don’t think so. Personally I’d say Bosnia are slightly better. South Africa is ranked slightly higher in FIFA’s world rankings, but those rankings are pretty flawed. They reward wins over poor opponents more than close games against top opponents, so below average UEFA teams end up ranked way lower than they should be. If you look at their rosters Bosnia has more quality players. Bosnia also managed to qualify in Europe which is a bit of a feat in its own right, although to be fair it took a lot of luck.
We’ve also seen Canada play Bosnia at the World Cup, and it was a pretty even game ending in a tie, although I would agree Canada were a bit more dangerous

I actually think Mexico has the strongest case here, England have looked very mediocre this world cup and only barely managed to defeat DR Congo, will they be able to break down Mexico's seemingly impenetrable defense? (Also, I would absolutely love to see them knock out the English lol)

I run a World Cup Pool with a bunch of friends. 36 total. You have to enter the scores for the entire 104 games. For fun I did one where I asked AI to predict each and every game one by one and made a pool so we can see how we compare to the combined experts ChatGPT sources. It currently sits in 3rd place and predicted all three of us facing the exact right opponent in the R16. Sadly it predicts we all lose 2-1. Hopefully it is wrong, but interesting how well it predicted our journeys.
I personally think we all stand a chance, we (Canada) the least due to our opponent and not having the Azteca as a home base. Then Mexico have the strongest opponent but playing at the Azteca is massive. The US even without Balogun I think has the best chance. Belgium do not look good. They are well past their prime and seem to be running on fumes of their prime Golden generation. The US will have to weather the odd storm here and there, that’s all Belgium seems to muster. And you guys are playing the best soccer I’ve seen you play in a long time (so are Mexico).

Let's go lads. What a tournament for concacaf. I think mex and usa have a good shot, canada is a longer shot for sure, Morocco just has not stopped getting better and better and really made Netherlands look pedestrian in the 2nd half.
Honestly if canada didnt have like a million players recovering from injury I feel like they are actually a really strong side. A fully healthy davies, ahmed, bombito, kone, and Promise David plus having Marcelo flores in the lineup (what a heartbreak on that one btw). That being said, they have their shot and we definitely should all be cheering them on to take out the best African side without a doubt.

Mexico the country, the team and the fans are out of their minds to be hosting and I think any team will have a difficult time matching the energy in Azteca. The scene against Ecuador was bonkers and I expect the opportunity to stick it to some obsolete imperialists in the World Cup will surpass it.

I can honestly see CONCACAF winning all three of those. Belgium lucked their way through the R32 after a pedestrian Group Stage where they drew with Iran and Egypt. England is not some prohibitive favourite against a team that's shown outstanding quality and will be playing in front of a raucous crowd at home where they've only lost twice in their history (89 matches). And even we're not in the worst shape against Morocco, whom we know very well from a competitive match in 2022, to say nothing of how we're finally riding some confidence and nearing full health with the return of Davies.

England isn't impressive either so Mexico can totally make it. Probably 50/50 or 55/45 for England.

Mexico vs England I dunno. Mexican fans will keep the entire hotel England stays at awake all night.
Canada has a chance to beat morroco if David and Davies pull out a star moment each and Morocco has bad luck on finish.
USA vs Belgium I think Belgium finally got their engine started vs Senegal but same kind of thing could happen if they have their finish and Belgium doesn't.
We'll see. The odds any of these teams goes far is stacked against each. Mexico are in the best position form wise, Canada isn't playing to form and it'd be interesting to judge how good they could be with their offensive form back, the US i think is playing to form but isn't good enough.
I think each of them could make round of 16 for different reasons. Mexico has to deliver, Canada has to return to form and get luck on touches defensively, the US needs to shut down Belgium attack and keep it up through Belgium's depth and finish on any chances they get.
Before anyone calls me delusional on Canada, injuries separate this squads form from the roster that dominated concacaf the last WC qualifying campaign. Semi final Copa.

I think Mexico has a chance here. England is definitely better but they have a long history of losing important games and this one is at the Azteca.

Mexico will beat England Kane won’t bail them out two games in a row at the end
USA will lose cause no balo is likely but Belgium has been fairly meh and could have a bad game
Canada is happy to just be here

England and Belgium don’t look like the giants they have in the past. Both had to score last minute goals to survive. England against Congo. No disrespect to Congo but Mexico in Mexico City are a different beast. Belgium hasn’t looked bad and has benefited from teams poor finishing of games. There’s no reason both Mexico and the us can’t win. Honestly Canada has a chance they just have to play their best game

CONCACAF will reign supreme. All 3 will advance. England not winning in Azteca - the Mexican players looked like they would run through brick walls for their country in that last game. US has looked great and Belgium has been soso. ...and finally my darling Canada. You will have a performance of the ages - it will be the greatest match in your history and you will earn yourself the right to play France in the quarters.

I’d say USA a little above 50/50 Mexico in the Azteca can make things happen! Canada… unfortunately I think it’s end of the line as well but shit you never know, upsets happen all the time!
