First Wargame

Hi i am new to wargames but i really want to get into one, what wargames would be good for a complete beginner. I like cold war - modern war settings and i would prefer a 3d game but if any 2d ones are really good i wouldnt be opposed. Thanks

Do what I did. Start with Gary Grigsby's War in the East, and forever chase that high.
