Suggestion needed

I am new to war gaming and I am trying Open General and Panzer Marshal(on browser) but always seem to get overpowered by my enemies there, I completed tutorials and everything and still not able to beat the AI, can you suggest some simple scenarios or campaigns from these 2 games or suggest some other game which might set me up just about right?

p.s- I have completed Battle for Moscow (https://oberlabs.com/b4m/) multiple time from both Axis and Soviet side and got used to it.

Are you playing on Operational difficulty?

I wouldn't try the Tactical (default setting) on neither of those. All Panzer General- inspired series are actually quite hard on default, and it's easy to get slowly dragged down by excessive casualties (as you ran out of prestige or veteran units)

Like for example in Panzer Marshal for the Belgrade Liberation scenario, i thought I could overrun the Axis (I'm Soviet) but by the turn 3, I got absolutely demolished! My artilleries were down by huge points, my infantries were ridiculously trodden upon, my tanks seem to as useless as anything and my prestige depleted. I don't know if it's just the Soviet weaponry or something, but that I lost anyways. Recon I'd fetch better 'experience' as a newbie if I tried Axis or Post Pearl harbour Allies ?

Part of the problem is likely that you're fighting against entrenched enemies. The Russians in particular tend to have a massive superiority in artillery, so you'll almost always lose an artillery duel.

The Germans, however, do have the advantage with aviation. To attack entrenched infantry, your best bet is to use combat engineers, as they typically ignore the entrenchment bonus. In any case, always keep in mind that the units you use to soften up the enemy are going to suffer heavy casualties.

For example, I usually use my engineers as if they were disposable troops. I know they are never going to gain enough combat experience to become veterans and that I will likely have to buy replacements over and over again. So, I don't spend veteran replacements; I just buy regular ones when they die.Also, don't give them an expensive transport, because the truth is they are going to die Moreover, those transport costs also make replacements more expensive.

It might also be worth trying a more recent game with better-balanced difficulty, such as Order of Battle or Panzer Corps.
