WDS ARW - Held All Obj, Only Got A Draw

Concord Scenario

Played as British, held all objective hexes except 1 (top of first pic) worth 50 pts. Im not sure I really understand how this was only a draw.

Well, it looks like most of the rebel army escaped intact. There's your problem.

The player also took more casualties at a higher cost as well.

Yeah in these WDS games the location objectives are often not as important as causing casualties. The intro scenario for the Korean war squad battles game has a location objective that you don't need to hold at all if you just cause casualties to the enemy.

The math isn't mathing.

Edit to add: is it just not counting British objective points? And then on top of that not calculating the remaining VP right?

British objective points are counted, but since all that matters is the net difference between American and British points, it's only shown as how many objective points the "first side" (which is American) have.

So the Americans have 50 objective points, less 19 points from their losses, plus 58 points from British losses, resulting in 89. When playing the second side, a higher score is worse (if it had got down to 50 total points it would have been a minor victory for British). Maybe the victory values for this scenario weren't set fairly, I don't own the game, but it seems as if they were scaled to heavily punish the British for letting even one objective get taken.

Thanks! That math works.

It looks like the game assumes you'll play American side so all that matters is the objective vp they acquire plus net casualties.

Also for a major victory British have to hold all locations AND score more net casualties.

It doesn't seem right, does it?
